Bao's BLOG!!

So... what's new? Well... I've been watching a lot of things, so let's just talk about things I've watched! So in no particular order...

Two Best Friends Play - Heavy Rain

Okay, so maybe a year ago, Two Best Friends did a video on Heavy Rain, and it was the most hilarious thing I have ever seen. And now just recently, they decided (or viewers voted, or whatever) to play the whole game and put it up on youtube... and I enjoyed every minute of it.

The "Let's-Play" was about 7-8 hours long, split over 21 parts, and if you have the time, I would recommend it. I can't get enough of Matt and Pat (the Two Best Friends) and I find their commentary to be hilarious. In any case, now that I've seen them play it, I don't want to play Heavy Rain anymore - of course, now I know the answer to the mystery, and to be honest, the game is kinda... creepy, at some parts, without giving it away.

Anyway, so yeah - I don't usually watch Let's Plays, but this game interested me, and plus, it's Two Best Friends Play.

X Factor

So I've been watching the X Factor on TV. It's kinda like American Idol, to say the least... but I would say it's more... epic? It's filmed in such a way, that it's... there's more story, behind the characters, and behind the judges and behind the scenes... and there's a lot of stuff with the characters, so now I have "favorites" and people to cheer for.

So it's weird, because... yeah, it's more like a story - does that make sense? And also, it helps that it's funny too; haven't seen Simon on TV for so long, and now he's back and he's hilarious, along with the rest of the judges. It's not that he's harsh or mean, but it's also that he's hilarious.

The other day (like, a month ago) Quyen came to visit from Montreal, and one day, during the day-time when everyone else was at work, we watched about 4 hours of X Factor shows that I taped. Fun times, fun times. In any case, I'm all caught up now, and I'm eagerly awaiting next Wednesday to continue my adventure.

CSI Miami

So, the new season of shows has just started a few weeks ago, and so I'm rekindling with old favorites, such as Criminal Minds, CSI NY, CSI LV, Fringe, and a few other shows. However, apparently CSI Miami's been cancelled and is never coming back - and unfortunately it just was cancelled, and it didn't get a proper finale episode or anything. That kinda sucks.

I think that's all I wanted to say about that.

League of Legends

Today (Saturday) is the final world championship match for League of Legends Season 2, so that's exciting - tonight a team from Taipei and a team from Korea will be duking it out, and the winning team gets a million dollars, so that's pretty sweet.

In other news, yeah, of course, we're all still playing League of Legends - I'm not playing it as much, as Duy and Alex (and some others) are playing more competitively while I'm still in the "casual" mindset so they're playing with me a bit less. The season is about to end and your "competitive" ranking gets reset at the start of the season, so Duy and Alex are trying to improve their ranks, just for fun (well, you also get some prizes for good ranks). In any case, I'm kinda rambling right now, and if David's the only one who reads this blog I guess I can stop writing about League :P

Magic

So recently a new Magic Set came out, and it's pretty awesome - Return to Ravnica - I hear even non-Magic players understand that it's a pretty big deal. In other news, yesterday I went out to play Magic and I reunited with a friend from Highschool whom I haven't seen in 12 years! So that was pretty random but pretty cool. I got to the store and this guy comes up to me (whom I sorta recognize) and asked me if my name was "Bao" - so yeah, that was pretty cool. Magic does have its rewards!

Epilogue

So that's what I wanted to talk about today... hmm... anything else? It's October now, November comes next month. Halo 4 comes out next month, so I will probably be getting that. I watched a video about indie games yesterday, so I will be looking forward to some neat games in the near future. The other day I played a cool Xbox Arcade game called Mark of the Ninja - it looks cool so I'll probably get the full version the next time I'm really bored.

Oh yeah, we had Thanksgiving the other day, so we had a whole bunch of Vietnamese food the whole weekend, it was pretty sweet. Mai even made pancakes and I requested a pancake with mushrooms, stuffing, and turkey breasts, and it was awesome (sadly, no gravy though). Mai and Quyen came back, and we hooked Dance Central back on and it was fun and awesome. Haven't played that in a while.

Rambling Rambling... Dark Knight Rises is in the cheap theatres now, so I'll probably catch it sometime soon. Maybe I'm a Dark Knight fan but not a real batman fan, haha. There's some other good movies out at the moment but I just haven't gone out to see them, I guess.

I guess that's it for this update. If I think of anything more I'll add it in, or I'll just update again in a few days.

^^ Okay, I just thought of something, because I got an e-mail about it. Did you see that viral youtube video about that bus driver upper-cutting a passenger? Apparently one of the related videos is the first video I uploaded to youtube, which was the Street Fighter Shin-Shoryuken montage, so lately I've been getting a lot more comments on that video. Just thought you'd like to know.
