I hope it doesn't snow this month

Hi all! It is now April, so here's another blog entry. So I'm still playing LOL, and like I said, I would reach level 30 by the end of March, and that I did. I'm still enjoying it and playing it a lot. Alex is in the midst of studying for his exam, so he's been going to the library every day, so less LOL for him. Also, I'm still playing Kingdoms of Amalur. I've just completed my 100th quest (about 10 main quests and 90 side quests), I've been playing for roughly 55 hours, and I just reached level 29 for my character. Like before, I'm using a mage-rogue, specializing in magic, and also daggers/chakrams/faeblades, with a little bit of bow and arrow on the side. I also set it to hard mode, and now it's much harder while still being pretty easy, depending on how you look at it.

In other gaming news, Duy got Tales of Graces F, the next game in the series of the Tales games. We've been playing it on and off; as I said earlier, Alex is studying a lot more for his test so we don't have that much time to get together as a group and play the game. The battle system is kinda... odd in this game, I think we've gotten used to it by now but we all think it's kinda weird; there's a stamina system instead of a mana system, and stamina fills quickly so casters can spam spells like, all the time. Using special moves uses some awkward combo system, and things like running around uses stamina too, so you can't free run as much as you used to be able to. So far I think we're about 15 hours in (maybe more? I haven't been keeping track) and it looks to be an enjoyable game, albeit a bit quirky and different.

TV-wise, I've added a new favourite show to my list: Missing. It stars Ashley Judd as a former CIA Agent who is looking for her son, who's been kidnapped. It's very action-packed and full of mysteries and all that, so it's very exciting to watch and stay tuned, waiting each week for the next episode. I've also started watching Touch because my parents taped it... I don't particularly love it at the moment, but so far I've seen two episodes so I'm willing to watch a couple more. It's about a boy and his dad (Kiefer Sutherland), and the boy is mute but he's special and smart and is in touch with the universe. It's more of a show David would like, I think... in the first episode (spoilers) ------ the boy tells his dad to go to some address, and in doing so, he saves a man's life, that man reunites with his daughter, a burglar is able to quit being a burglar, and a random man is able to follow his dreams... so yeah.

This month it's Duy's birthday, but also, one of Duy's friends from the Internet (also from the U.S.) is going to visit us! He'll be staying with us for 6 days, from the 23rd (3 days before Duy's birthday) to the 29th (3 days after Duy's birthday), so let's show him a good time, shall we? So we're looking forward to that. Magic-wise, haven't been going to that, but the new set is coming out soon so there's a good chance I'll start going to draft more. Unfortunately, the set comes out during the time Duy's friend is here, but I'm sure I can get away for an evening... well, we'll see. Anyway, if you guys are around, we'll probably go out for chicken wings one night, and other restaurants here and there on other nights. He's not a fan of sushi so dunno, we'll probably skip that.

What else... Easter just passed. Relatives from Montreal came up (I would usually say "Cousins from Montreal", but since one is already here, saying "other cousin" felt kinda weird... anyway, you get the point). Had foods, played Rock Band, did the usual. This upcoming Saturday we're going to VCSA Board Games Night, me and Duy (Alex would come too, if he wasn't knee-deep in notebooks). Also later this month I was thinking of going to the Toronto Chicken Wing Festival, but we didn't buy early-bird tickets, and it's in Toronto, so there's a good chance we'll just skip it.

Oh, April Fools was this month! I dunno, I think the pranks aren't as good this year; Gmail Tap was nice, had a video with a cameo from LL Cool J, and then they released a second Gmail Tap video with 90% LL Cool J, I thought that was cool. The Blizzard pranks weren't as good, I believe; they were more interactive, but still mostly lame. Youtube had a video about getting a DVD collection of the entirety of youtube, I thought it was pretty funny, especially the part when the kid wants to write a comment. There were a few other things, but not that much stood out.

I bought a groupon for an icecream cake! So for Duy's birthday, we'll have some chocolate mousse Ice Cream Cake from Baskin Robbins. You should help us eat it, if you want. Hmm... The Avengers comes out May 4th, so looking forward to that as well, should be awesome.

Hmm... Today I made Pasta! I was watching TV yesterday and that commercial about the new Philly Cooking Creme came on so I bought that today, bought frozen peas and we had leftover chicken, so altogether it made a pretty good meal.

Anyway, I guess that's a good time to end the update. We should do things when Duy's friend comes!
