Bao's BLOG!!

Ya know what? Maybe one blog a month is… still an okay goal, but I shouldn't be limited to that. So this month, maybe I will have one blog post, or maybe two, or maybe every month I'll have one life-related blog post and one other-related blog post, where I review a videogame or talk about youtube or something. That said, here is a youtube related post!

Usually I would go through my list of recent favourites and pick special ones and link to them and talk about them. Today, I think instead I'll go through the hundred's of people I'm subscribed to and pick a few of them and talk about them a bit. So here we go, with my January Youtube Spotlight list… thing.

01. sxephil

I start the list off with sxephil - he's been around since forever, and I've been subscribed to him since almost forever, but only started following him constantly back in late 2010. Sxephil, or Philip DeFranco is just a guy that vlogs a few times a week about stuff that matters to him in the news, but he's gotten really big since then. I guess he's a good example of one of the youtube success stories - start with making videos, and now he has sponsors, he hires a staff and he still does the youtube thing, as a full-time thing. Just recently he did a tour in europe and had his first official meet&greet event and it's on youtube now, and it was pretty great.

Anyway, sxephil is on my list today because… well, yeah, because I follow him and I find him entertaining and insightful. He usually posts videos Monday through Thursday, and it's a good way to keep up with the news if you, in fact, don't follow the news :P Then if you really loved him, you can follow some of his other channels and websites as well.

I guess since I linked a video or two with all my other choices, I will link… the video he posted on April Fool's. This also immortalizes 2011's April Fools jokes on the internets: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pT4aw8c8oMs . That Canon-Printer April Fools thing sounds hilarious. I would love to have seen that. Also, I have accounts with GoDaddy so this video is also pretty funny to me.

Also, here's a video from his vlog channel, and it's Phil and his friends playing Chubby Bunny! So far, I've never not-laughed at a game of Chubby Bunny. Man, I find Chubby Bunny videos the best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gKVXH6gXbg

02. dailygrace

Dailygrace apparently has been around since forever as well, but I first discovered her in October 2011, when she was running for King of the Web, which is an online contest where people vote and people win money and giftcards and things. Anyways, she's a comedian and she posts videos 5 times a week, although lately she's been vlogging a little bit more, and she's becoming more famous as she's starting appearing on real life tv and on google commercials and whatnot.

Anyhoo, I find her adorable and I like her all and all. Here is one of her Thursday videos, in which she teaches you how to do or make something. So here, she will teach you how to deal with Christmas presents that you don't like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fu9_Rhs01rU

And here is another Thursday video, where she teaches you how to make Fried Salad! Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baeJgSO4h94

03. MorganPaigeLoves

My third entry goes to Morgan Paige. Unlike sxephil which talks about news and opinions, or dailygrace which is a bunch of comedy, Morgan Paige is just a pure vlogger, but who knows, maybe you'll fall in love with her too.

So how did I come upon her? One of Philip DeFranco's friends, his best friend actually, Matt, was seeking a date, and long story short, some voting happened, airplane stuff happened, and then Morgan Paige went on a date with Matt. I think that happened in early 2011… or something. yes. Oh, and then in October she ran for King of the Web, and that's how I got to see DailyGrace!

So videos videos… here's a video from February 2011, just her anniversary video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdEXr_rn_Ys

Here's a Q&A video, I like these videos as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ubCMe_Ia7g . It's also less awkward :P

04. lindseystomp

I found her a few weeks ago, also via King of the Web. She's a violinist who does hip hop rock stuff too, and I just found out she was also on America's Got Talent! Anyway, her name is Lindsey Sterling, and here is a Zelda Medley she made:

05. communitychannel

If I had to pick worst name for a youtube channel, communitychannel would be among them. I remember subscribing to cc a long long time ago, but I remember not checking cc's videos since… well, I guess cc's name wasn't catchy to me or something. Anyway, cc's actual name should be Natalie Tran, a Vietnamese woman from Australia. Up until a few months ago she would post videos regularly, about random things, mostly comedic bits… and then she did some traveling for a bit and there were a few vlogs on those, but then she got really busy or something and her videos have been irregular at best lately.

Still, I do love me some Natalie Tran, and I do hope she posts a lot more. Anyway, I've posted this video on this blog before, but I'll do it again - here she argues with herself about Fireworks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yq6AZLy5oGk

But really, any video of hers is good. Here's one from nov 2011 about usernames: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o605DTjj7HU

And that's that! If you would like, you can go through my channel and check out some other channels that I'm subscribed to, and if you have any questions or need more recommendations or whatever, feel free to contact me. Also, I would be interested in what other channels you frequent.
