Mini-Update about Miniature Updates!!

I'm on twitter!

So, I was the first in our group to get the original xbox (followed by Wen very soon after), and at the time none of us had xboxes (redundant, yes), maybe because of some stigma or whatever. In any case, glad we got xbox, opened all of our minds into the greatness that can be microsoft. But I digress.

I stayed away from the MySpace era and never got a Myspace account. I tried to stay away from Facebook but in February 2007, Alfie had a birthday party and long story short, I joined facebook in order to say "yes I'm coming" and also to reconnect with dozens or hundreds of old friends that I haven't seen in ages, and I'm so glad I got facebook.

Somewhere along the line I joined AsianAvenue, Hi5, WAYN, OkCupid, and LinkedIn, but I never really do anything with those (OKCupid occasionally sends me an e-mail with cute pictures of girls so I check those out, but I digress). A bunch of us started blogging, so I joined too, and it was fun and now David and I are the only ones left.

And I've stayed away from Twitter, but 1) in an effort to find something new for our group, 2) I shouldn't shun new technology, and instead embrace it, and 3) Morbid curiosity, and 4) To try out the feature in Uncharted 2, so now I've joined Twitter.

Follow me here: http://www.twitter.com/baomon

Or make a twitter account and follow me and other people. I know a few people now that have Twitter and only have 1 "post", so I guess there's no major drawback to have a twitter account. So follow me! Of course, I'll still use this blog, but for the fun of it, follow me on Twitter too :)

So basically you already know what Twitter is; it's like facebook status updates, or blog updates, that are <140 characters in length, and thus are very short and should be pretty sponteneous. So in a way, it feels like a fad, but that's okay. Ooh, you guys should join and update too. hehe. We'll see how long that lasts.

Anyway, the neat thing about Twitter is that "everyone" is using it. Rather than explain what that means, I'll just give some real examples. For example, some of the first few people I started following were Felicia Day and Maurissa Tanchareon, of Dr. Horrible Fame. Maurissa is a real life girl and she talks a lot about how it's great to work with her friends, and I even got some great gift ideas based on Dr. Horrible from her. Felicia Day is also a real person and she tweets about what xbox games she is playing nowadays and stuff.

I added Weird Al Yankovic and a few minutes ago he took a silly picture of himself on his cellphone and posted it on twitter, and now regular real people can see it. I added some more of the commercial-type "people", so sometimes TheOnion sends me a funny news article or whatever. I'm also following NathanFillion and NeilPatrickHarris but I don't think Neil says that much. Also, all 4 boys and Penny from Big Bang Theory are on Twitter (yes, the fictional characters) and they have conversations with each other. bizarre. but possible.

Anyway...join me! This is my 3rd day with Twitter, so I'm posting... what, an average of 6 posts per day? Then again, it's not the number of posts or the number of words... but whatever. Maybe it's just a fad, but it's not dangerous. And it'd be nice if I had a few more followers... even Sheldoncooper from Big Bang Theory is following me... weiird.

ANYWAY, this has been a mini-update, just telling you about more miniature-updates that you can get :P The actual update is still below, which is still flourishing.
