Long time no blog, blah blah blah.

Still no job. Hmm... I'm going back to WinMagic, part time, but not really doing work there, heh. Maybe an hour or so, and then the rest I'm programming my games or surfing on message boards. That said, I started going to PotD, or "the GameFaqs' Poll of the Day Message board" where they discuss everything EXCEPT the Poll. It's a pretty immature board... I should probably spend less time there. In any case, I'm in the process of programming two flash games, a 'choose-your-own-adventure' and a megaman game. If you want to help with either (like provide a section of story or whatever), be my guest! Here's the demo for the megaman game: http://www.baomon.com/board/potd_megaman_1019.html

Anyway, on to the point form:

Braid: My music page (where you can download the songs) || Track List (in case you want to explore other songs by the same artists) || My Youtube video: What if Braid can be applied to other games or real life? Check it out.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long-Blog - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hCtugXr8dw - thanks to Ambrose for the link. Joss Whedon (Buffy, Firefly), Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Houser, overall awesome guy), Nathan Fillion (Firefly, .... Slither), Felicia Day (?... Penny Arcade mention?). I like it. Whole episode is 45 minutes long, about 40% song and 60% not song. And in case people ask, here's the song from Act 2, Part 1:

So the weekend after my other blog post, Jia came over, we got Tales of Vesperia, and proceeded to play it for 25 hours that weekend. Yay. Now we only play it on weekends when Ambrose comes over.

The other day Mai and I were watching Letterman, and I noticed that Will Ferrell looks like Harrison Ford! I tried to get pictures of it, but to no avail, but honestly, if you just look at his face and try not to look at his hair, he looks like Harrison Ford! It's crazy. For the rest of the episode my sister couldn't think of anything else.

With a bit of influence of those on PotD, I decided to buy Team Fortress 2 for PC. I'm liking it. Duy's trying it out now too (trial guest account), it's fun. I especially love statistics, that tell you how long you've played each class, and that there are achievements as you play more, so even if you're not really leveling, it feels like you are. I'm really liking it. Pyro FTW!

In other news, I was browsing on Steam the other day and noticed that Everyday Shooter is available for PC! So if you want to play it and you don't have a PS3, you can buy it now for $9.99 on PC.

Four 5's game: I did this a few years ago, and now I'm trying again - it's just a math challenge game, if you want to play it. You have to use exactly four instances of the number "5" to make it equal a certain number. So for example, we have:
1: 55/55 = 1.
2: .5 + .5 + .5 + .5 = 2.

(the rest below are spoilers in case you don't want to look, but I'm only spoiling like 6 numbers)

8: 5.5 + (5 x .5) = 5.5 + 2.5 = 8.
14: 5!/5 -5 -5 = 120/5 - 10 = 24-10 = 14.

And so on. Then we have the weird ones, like

72: asin(.5)+asin(.5)+acos(.5)/5 = 30 + 30 + 60/5 = 72. (where asin and acos are inverse-sin and inverse-cos)
87: 55 + .5^(-5) = 55 + 32 = 87
and lastly, there's 81, which uses a unique solution from the rest so far:
.5root[(5-.5)/.5], so that is the half root, rather than the square root or cube root, and the half root is the same as the square, so that's the square of 4.5x2, which is 81.

Okay, so I'm trying the numbers between 1 and 100, and I got all of them except 73, 76, 82, 83, 93, 89, and 99.

Anyways, enjoy the challenge, if you're up to it!

Good post has good length. Anyways, gonna go to work soon, might get a few rounds of TF2 in before I go. Ciao!
