Day 1, and Polynesian Tour

Good morning everyone! It's about 11:45pm, on Friday, July 4th, here in Honolulu. Yesterday I spent the whole day between planes and airports. Got up at 7, got to airport at 10, flight at 12. Five and a half hours later, got to LAX at about 2:30, had a 3.5 hour stop over, flight at 6. Five hours later, got to Honolulu around 8:00pm.

But 2:30 LA time is 5:30 Toronto time, and 8:00pm Honolulu time is 2:00am Toronto time. So we are 6 hours behind you guys! (So when it's midnight here, you guys are... hopefully still sleeping at 6:00am). I hear Hawaii's not really that far behind, except that Hawaii doesn't follow Daylight savings... but I digress.

So Thursday went by without much incident. Friday morning, started off with breakfast buffet, then we went to the beaches for a bit and swam around. Some of us had surfing lessons, I didn't though, not sure why :( . maybe next time. Did some shopping, had some Burger King for lunch, and then onto the tour.

Anyway, so I started this entry this morning, and now it's night time and we recently came back from a Polynesian tour - so we had a tourbus with approx 25 people, and we drove for an hour to a Polynesian Cultural Center. On the way there we were supposed to stop off at a Macadamian Nut farm thingy, but it was closed due to it being the Fourth of July.

Anyway, the Polynesian Cultural Center was pretty cool. It wasn't too hot, and it rained for about 2 minutes sometime in the middle, so overall weather was pretty good. Rain was actually kinda refreshing. Saw some cultural dances and drum performances, as well as a theatrical play at the end. Overall a pretty good day. Managed to buy a few souvenirs after coming back to the hotel.

Not sure what's happening tomorrow... I want to go on a ground tour, but mom doesn't, she thinks it'll be too similar to today's tour. We'll see. Anyway, for now I can't transfer my pictures to the computer, but eventually I'll upload some stuffs... but I might as well write these entries when I have time, since I'm paying for internet... also, writing these entries makes it easier for me to blog about the whole experience later :)
