The Epicness of it all
First of all, I think I'll start posting some of these blog posts to facebook, just so. I still do enjoy blogging, even if my audience starts to fade away, so posting to facebook makes sense too. So starting now, I'll start posting to facebook more often. Anyway, I'm pretty busy nowadays, so I don't blog too often, but I do make some notes every now and then on what I want to blog about in the future... so sometimes I feel like blogging, but then there are so many things in my notes that it's overwhelming and I don't want to blog anymore... and the more I don't blog, the longer my notes get, and the longer it will take to blog... what a vicious cycle!
Anyway... let's start blogging. Let's see... alright, how'bout from Least Epic to Most Epic?

Alright, so since I last blogged, Duy went to Texas and he'll be back tonight. So what have I been doing different since he's been gone? Well.. actually, almost nothing, heh. So it's very unepic.
Unepic -3
I haven't seen Jeopardy in a while, and so I turn on the tv and soon I hear some guy say "What is a barrel roll?" and he wins $3000.

I haven't been to the Square One bus terminal in so long, so when Hawk and I went on Tuesday, I was starting to panic a little bit when the bus didn't make that right turn into the bus terminal. I was like "wth, where are we going?" but then a few seconds later the bus turned into that new thing... you know what I'm talking about.

On that Tuesday, went to Zellers, Hawk had a milkshake, and I didn't want such a big one so I just got a small chocolate milk to go, and they put it in this cup that has a fuzzy outside! For some reason, I was really impressed... and then for some reason, I had an amazing urge to tear off the fuzzy outside and keep it. It's like proof that this cup was so special... so I did. I now have some fuzzy cup stuff in one of my pockets.

The Penny Arcade xboxlivearcade/PC game is finally out. I just recently spent 45 minutes playing the demo on the computer... and it's kind of fun. I'm not sure if I'll shell out $20 for the game, and if I do, not sure which system. It's a nice game, has some more reading than I really want but as a webcomic I guess it makes sense. Mixes some Final Fantasy combat with a bit of the MarioRPG/PaperMario interactive combat... game probably has some good humour in it. For now I'll hold off on it though, but the demo was some kind of fun.
Epic 0.2
So the other day I was at Erin Mills TC and I walk into Zellers and they have 1 copy left of Wii-Fit, but they were charging $100 for it. If it was $60, I would've bought it for sure. At $90, it's in the GuitarHero range, and I wasn't very sure if I wanted it for $90. I would've bought it for $90 as a half-impulse buy on the Indy4Thursday, but it was all sold out, but now after stepping back I'm not sure if I want it at all. Until...

Yesterday it was Gabriel's birthday dinner. I haven't seen Gabriel or my other university friends for a while, so it was a good experience. Went to Canyon Creek, it was... okay. Most other people had steak, I went with the Ribs... I didn't like the ribs too much, but the atmosphere and ambience and service was pretty good. Anyways, afterwards we went to June's place to play games and hang out. The first event of the night: Wii Fit.
It's fun! There are a lot more activities than I thought there would be, and it actually looks like fun. We played some balance games like slalom and the soccer-goal game, and then we spent the next half hour or so... um... seeing different people's BMI and balance. Gee, what a party... :P I don't think people should be THAT amused with watching people get weighed... but alas, it was still a fun time. Played some ping pong, I won 3 games ^_^, then played some rock band, and some poker. We ended the night with a few more wii fit games, and then we had some fun doing pushups and planks and stuff... yeah... what a party....
In any case, now I think I'll get wii fit asap, for $90 though, not for too much more. However, in my mind it still might be a novelty thing - I'll assume it'll get a few weeks of constant play, and then it might die down a bit. And as for a fitness tool? HAH!
Epic 2
Indiana Jones, opening day, Hawk/Ambrose/Ray/Duy/Bao go to see it. Overall, a good film. Very silly! Some odd cgi moments, which add to the silliness. I love how they manage to throw in a funny action scene anywhere. I don't think I disliked the ending as much as most other people, so I was fine with it. I don't remember the other Indiana Jones movies as much, although I did see one of them somewhat recently... Some people are upset about how they broke the trilogy, or how the 4th movie is like, a good movie, but as an IndianaJones movie it doesn't live up. Overall I liked it though, wouldn't recommend it as highly as Ironman though.
Anyway, overall good movie. Only bad part was in our theatre, the screen had a crack in it on the top left, it looked like a pubic hair creeping across the screen. However, you can only see it on very bright/white scenes, and it made for a good conversation piece. Heh.
Epic 3
Skip back to a year+ ago, Jon introduces us to a few "Flight of the Conchords" music videos, and we liked them. Funny stuff. Anyway, so I borrowed the dvds from Isaque, and this past week, during lunch at work, we saw 1 episode a day of the Flight of the Conchords. FUNNY STUFF! Flight of the Conchords is amazing. So far we've (Peter and I, not including Isaque, he's seen all of them) seen the first 5 episodes, oh man, it's the highlight of the day.
Tuesday was great (Episode 2). I haven't laughed so hard in such a long time. I highly recommend watching this series.
::EDIT:: - I just checked amazon - I might get this thing. Apparently it's the #1 ranked DVD in comedies and #20 in DVDs overall, and it's pretty affordable. I might just pick this up now!
But Tuesday wasn't over yet! Because...
Epic 4
Tuesday night, 7:00pm, Coliseum, IMAX. Bao and Isaque.
Speed Racer.
WOW. What an awesome movie! Hahaha. Well, it did help that I expected a "4/10" movie but got a super-amazing movie instead. First, Rama saw it and recommended it to Hawk. I do like the matrix... I do like artistic things... and for some reason, ever since a few years ago, I started really liking Christina Ricci more and more. Her part in the movie wasn't huge, but it did help. In any case, I love this movie!
At first, it was a sort of bad sign that the commercials before the movie were from YTV, and had this silly guy doing silly stuff. Oh no, this movie's for little children! But then, the next commercial was for bras and panties... what is the target audience of this movie? Then I got it: Little kids and their moms. Ahh. haha. This should be an interesting movie. But it turned out to be very awesome!
That said, before you run to the movie theatres based on my review, I'll say it's a sort-of niche movie. Some of the reviewers are right, it is a very colourful movie and it's a bit psychadelic and whatever. Anyway, Isaque calls it "F-Zero: The Movie", and that's what it is. It's half F-Zero, half Ridge Racer, and half any other game or movie where cars can use guns, spiked tires, jumps, "rims that extend and fight", oil slicks, re-inflating tires, and similar things. It is pretty crazy at times, but it's very entertaining.
Also, it helped that I went with Isaque, who's a major F-Zero fanatic. Whenever I saw an F-Zero-esque technique on the screen, I could sense some overwhelming enjoyment in Isaque next to me, so I too used some of that energy to make the movie more enjoyable.
Overall, I really liked the movie.
Oh, one more thing. As we entered the theatre, I asked Isaque, "how many people will there be? Less than 25, or more than 25?" Isaque said less than 25.
What do you guys think? How many people went to see Speed Racer on this most recent Tuesday night, at 7:00 pm, at Coliseum, on IMAX? I'll post answers on my next post.
Anyway, thanks for reading, and that's it for this post!
If you guys (facebook guys) wanna check out my other posts, check http://krug.blogspot.com . As for commenting, I guess it makes more sense to comment on facebook, where more people would see it.
