The Price Is Epic

WOW, We just saw the most epic episode of "The Price is Right"! You guys should come over and see it, haha. Okay, if you plan to come over and see it, skip the rest of this blog entry. Otherwise... enjoy!

Okay, so this episode was the Million Dollar Spectacular, and it was amazing. First lady up, she had some chance game... first she had a 1 in 3 chance to win something, she did... then a 1 in 4 chance to win a hot tub, and she did... and then usually there would be some car now, like a Chrysler or Chevy or something, but it was the Million Dollar Spectacular, so instead it was a Viper! So she had a 1 in 5 chance to win it, and voila! She wins a Dodge Viper.

I missed the next part, but some cute girl won $20,000. Anyway, so now they're bidding for an item. The bids go something like "2500, 3500, 3600" and then the last guy... well, this is where you're supposed to bid either "$1!" or "$3601!" I think his brain messed up a bit, and he said "$3501!" ... and then the actual retail price was about $3800, and the $3600 bidder goes on to play her game, the Clock Game. So there's a sofa, and an elliptical trainer, and your goal was to guess the price of each (using higher/lower cues) before time was up.

So Drew Carey starts by saying, "if you get the price of each within 30 seconds, you win an extra $5000" and she becomes so happy. Then Drew says "okay, this is the exciting part; it's hard, but it's doable - If you get the price of both prizes within 10 seconds, you win One Million Dollars!" And the crowd goes wild.

Anyway, so the game starts. The price is shown on screen, $899, and the game starts - the girl says "899" and she gets it in 1 second! Okay, so next, the elliptical trainer - Drew shows the price on screen, $999... the girl says "1400" Drew says "lower" 1300, lower, 1000, lower, 899, higher, 999... and that was all in 7 seconds, and just right then and there, she just wins a million dollars!

A million Dollars! In 10 seconds! That was so epic! This young mom, who looks like 22-26 years old, just wins a million dollars! That was so awesome. Anyways, the awesomeness doesn't end there... this whole episode is full of epic!

So now the three winners so far ($20,000 cute girl, Viper and Hot Tub woman, and million dollar girl) go to the wheel to see who gets to play in the show case. $20,000 cute girl spins 35 and 1.00, so she's over and that's the end of her. Viper and Hot Tub woman spins 95 cents, so she's on her way to victory. But then... million dollar girl also spins 95 cents! So it's tie breaker time, and Hot Tub Viper spins 35, Million dollar girl spins 45, awesome, she goes on to try for the showcase.

Next... wow. So the 4 people are bidding on a "Simpsons Pinball Arcade Game". So the first person says "1300!" Next says "900!" Next says "700!" . And then the fourth. Now this is where you say either "One Dollar!" or "1301!" ... so she thinks for a bit, and she says "4200!"

WHAT??? Who does that??? And then Drew's smiling, and he says, "Actual retail price - Four Thousand Five Hundred Dollars!"

EPIC!!!

That was epic. And then long story short, she plays that bank game, and she wins a car.

Next, the last bidder was smarter - he asks Drew, "What was the highest bid so far?" Drew answers "4000!" "Okay - 4001!" Unfortunately, he didn't win, and the guy that did win didn't do so well. Played Plinko, sucked, and won $1000.

Next guy... well, the bidding was for a diamond ring, and the bids were like "2450!" The next person said "$4000!" Then the next guy was a jerk and said "$4001!" And then the last guy was also a jerk and said "$4002!" And the actual retail price was $4065, so that jerk (although smart) won. Unfortunately he didn't win his game either, so onto the wheel.

So we have Car Winner, Nothing Winner, and Plinko Loser. Plinko Loser spins the wheel and gets 45, and 50 cents for a total of 95 cents, so he's in pretty good shape.

Next, Nothing Winner spins 25, so he needs a 70 or 75 to stay in the game. He spins the wheel, and the anticipation was building up as the wheel slowed down. And as it approached the 70... beep. The arrow hits the sprocket just before the 70, but unfortunately it doesn't get past it.

OOOHH!!! DEMORALIZED!! How demoralizing. It made the beep, but it didn't get through! How epiccally awesome! So, he doesn't make it. Next, Car Winner lady goes up, she also gets 25, and she goes for the 70 but is off by a few inches. Also pretty close, but no cigar.

Next comes the showcase. In the past, if you get within $100 of your showcase without going over, you win both showcases. Now (or only for this special), if you get within $1,000 of your showcase without going over, you win both showcases Plus One Million Dollars.

So it's the Million Dollar Girl and Plinko Loser, who also happens to be the guy that bid the "$3501" instead of "$3601". Just think, he could've been the Million Dollar Winner, instead of just a Plinko Loser ($1000 winner).

First showcase, um, a gym, stereo system, and a boat. Cynthia (Million Dollar Girl) passes it onto the other guy (Plinko Loser) and he bids $45,000 for it. Second show case had a trailer thingy, a trip to hawaii, and 3 jeeps, Cynthia bids $75,000 for it.

Plinko Loser bids $45,000, actual retail price is about $67,000, so he's off by a bit. Cynthia bidded $75,000 for her showcase, actual retail price was $78,220, so she was off by $3,220, and she wins her showcase. But it was almost epic enough for her to win a total of Two Million Dollars and a bunch of other stuff.

Almost. But overall, still an epic episode. You go from being a young mom sitting in the audience, to winning a million dollars and 3 jeeps. Such an epic gameshow.
