Smash Brawl Tip of the Day - "Everyone is good(?), Pick your Playing Style"

Okay, played smash with a bunch of people (Eric, Ambrose, Isaque, Jerry, Peter, Ray, Bao, Duy) on Saturday for 5+ hours and then again at Isaque's housewarming party with a bunch of people (Dennis, Kyle, Drew, Rod, Alan, Isaque, Ehssan, Bao, Duy) on Sunday for 6+ hours. Ray just got a wii and SSBB, and when Jia gets back this weekend, he'll also have a wii and SSBB. There might be a wii in Alan's future as well, if he can get one. Unlike SSBM, this one will be played by everyone and everyone will get good at it, like with SSB64. Sweet.

Anyway, the tip of the "day" is that... well, everyone is good... in their own way. But you have to know your own playing style, and if it doesn't fit with a good character, you have to find someone else. For example, if you read on some message boards that "Marth is awesome", you might go home and try it out but you can't figure it out - you just suck with Marth. It could be because he's not aligned with your playing style. So don't force yourself to play with Marth, even if he's top tier or everyone else says he's good. So change to someone else and don't feel bad.

In our group, none of us can really use Captain Olimar, except Eric, but when he does use him he's unbelievably good. We try to use him too but we don't know how to use him properly, so we can't use him, and that's ookay.

So I said that my mains would probably change over the next few days as I play more... and they have! Well... there are 35 characters in SSBB, and I'm still tinkling around with 10 of them:

Toon Link: It's weird - in Smash and Smash Melee, I never used Link or Young Link, but now Toon Link is one of my serious mains. Additionally, I tend to not main the same characters as Duy/etc, or else Duy/etc will always be better than me :P
Donkey Kong - As Ambrose says, he has Donkey Kong SSBN64 Power and Donkey Kong SSBM Mobility... but much better.
Snake - Captain Falcon was the fun guy in SSBM; in SSBB, I think Snake takes over that role. One Snake among 3 other opponents is a fun party. Two types of land mines and a controllable missile attack? It's so awesome.
Meta Knight - Meta Knight just exudes coolness. He's really weak though, but I'm trying to really use him and make him better since I like him so much.
Wolf - He's similar to Falco, and he's also awesome. So far I'm not using him as well as I could be, but I need some warrior-fighting main guy. Also, if we have Smashballs on, this guy's gonna rack up the kills for me.
R.O.B. - First time I used him, wow, so awesome. Lately, not as much, but still pretty good.
Game and Watch - Much improved over the SSBM G&W, can get some fun victories. Final smash is pretty sweet too, haha.
Luigi - Best taunt ever, and a really funny final smash.
Kirby - I want to have either kirby or jiggly puff, and this guy's pretty powerful.
Jiggly Puff - I want to have either kirby or jiggly puff, but some jiggly stuff is jiggly funny.

Note in SSB64, my mains were Donkey Kong and Ness, and Kirby as a distant third.
In SSBM, my mains were Samus, Roy, Falco, Jigglypuff, Dr. Mario, and sometimes Captain Falcon.
It's interesting to see how my mains change...
