Expert Endless Setlist and Questionable YouTube Links

Apart from the two subjects mentioned above, I'm supposed to be writing something about Poker and Fate and Luck... I'll do that on my other blog in a little bit. Anyway, let's talk about these....

Expert Endless Setlist

The rockband party was fun - I edited the post below with a link to a streaming flash video file from the party, it's a fun viewing. Anyway, the rockband party and finishing the Endless Setlist on Medium gives us all something to thrive for - yes, beating the Rockband Endless Setlist on Hard or Expert. We'll probably skip the hard one and just do the expert one.

So now I'm preparing myself to be able to helpful in the Expert Endless Setlist, by going through a few expert solo tours. I started the expert vocal tour today, and DAMN, It's HAR!D! I'm stuck on the first tier of songs... I beat 3 of the 5, and I've done about half the bonus songs, but woah, it's hard! Being stuck on the first tier kinda sucks.

Also, I've started on expert drums. I'm about 30 songs done, but it's hard! I think in Expert, it's best if you plan other weird strategies... for different songs I sit in different positions... well, I still have 2 songs on hard mode to do. For example, for Run to the Hills on Hard mode, for the first bit of the song, I sit on the left side of the drum stick and move the foot pedal so it's easier to hit from the left side, and I use both drum sticks to hit the yellow/blue parts. Then when it switches to mostly red drums, I move my seat again. Is that weird?

Also, is it weird for a song in Expert... well, I mentally divide the bass pedal into two parts, the left side and the right half... and through the song, I move my right foot a few inches left and right and hit the bass pedal as if the left side of the pedal was different from the right side? Does that make me crazy?

Anyway, I'll probably work on each of the 3 instruments (there's no bass solo tour) so we can rotate when we do the Expert Endless Setlist. But I'll assume Vinh will be there for most of the Expert Guitar parts, and I'll be there for most of the Expert Drum parts. But we should get more people practicing different parts so we can rotate more often and take more breaks. Who's in? Who wants to practice other parts? We can probably try them in Band quickplay too, so we can see how often Vinh can save us - maybe we don't need to do any practice at all, if Vinh can just save us all in each song... heh. But yes, practice would be good. It's also funny.

Questionable? YouTube Links

Okay, so sometimes, let's say I find some funny youtube video; random searching, links sent to me by friends, links I find on message boards (topics such as "funniest youtube videos" or whatever else). So sometimes, if something is very unique, I tend to post it here, like the Daft Bodies video, or the Lasse Gjertsen video... but sometimes I don't... post it or share it, because sometimes what I think is funny is not funny for others, or I'm pretty tolerable (you know what I mean) so some other things I might want to share are offensive, so I don't know.

Sometimes something is funny or kind of regular and maybe I don't think it's special enough to share so I don't share it... so let's have a poll... or I'll post some links to youtube videos, and you tell me whether or not it's worth sharing, and maybe I'll post why I didn't post it... So we'll start with

Flight of the Conchords - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY8jaGs7xJ0 - (work safe)

One day Jon came over and we went on youtube and he told us about these guys, two fictional New Zealanders trying to make it in the music business. It's funny - I like the song, it's catchy, I listen to it almost every day... it's kind of like "Look Around You" in that regard - it's quirky and a bit odd, but needs a certain target audience. They have enough "episodes" so they can be our new "Look Around You" or quirky "StrongBad E-mail"... hmm... anyway, if you like that, check out episode 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FArZxLj6DLk

I watched some of the other episodes but they weren't so special. Anyway, I love the characters, hopefully you'll enjoy them too.

Whitest Kids You Know - Slow Jerk - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkgMbU-we1o (umm... pretend it's not work safe)

I found this on a message board, in one of those "best youtube videos" threads. I think it's pretty funny, but as I posted, it's not the most work-safe thing. Maybe it's offensive to some of you? Maybe not. But I like it. It's funny how imagery and psychology can make someone angry whilst there's nothing really bad happening, and that's... that's funny.

Sarah Silverman on Jimmy Kimmel... - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnVJZkDuVBM (let's say not work safe)

A friend sorta sent me this link... it was in her msn name, so I checked it out. Funny? Not Funny? You decide. I probably won't post these types of links too often, there are too many of these out there. If you do like it, you might as well check the video response to see Jimmy's response to Sarah's song.

Anyway, that's all the links for now.
