TriTriTrivia

Okay, this was supposed to be Monday's update, and I'm not changing it, so pretend it's Monday whenever it says Monday or whatever...

In this update:
--- List Trivia
--- why trivia?
--- Fruit/Veg of the Week
--- List Trivia
--- The New Math

--- List Trivia
I was just talking with Wen and it occurred to me that people might have misunderstood my "List" trivia... in my example, I said the answer might be "all backstreet boys songs", so people might have assumed that all lists are song/band related. Nope! Not true. They could be from songs, movies, tv shows, anime, books... anything goes. There might even be something like

List F:
1. "I'm"
2. "going"
3. "Disneyland"

And then answer would be "these are words in the phrase "I'm going to Disneyland" from the movie "Balls of Fury" ". ... but obviously there's nothing that simple in the trivia on Thursday. Please do it! I'd like to see someone solve these, or struggle on these and then hit their heads when I reveal the answer.

--- Why Trivia?
So... I'm posting a lot of trivia. Trivia does at least three things:
- it makes my blog consistent. In my effort to blog more often, the trivia is like a daily feature, so there's at least something to blog about, and I do like making trivia so it gives me more incentive to do blog more often. Also, if you're a trivia-lover, then you have a good reason to come back to this blog everyday. Just like joke of the day, picture of the day, smash bros. tip of the day, and all these other things, there's now trivia of the day.
- It gives me POWER! Bwahahaha. Okay, so this is a weird (for lack of a better term) reason, but when I post trivia, I know the answer and you don't (yet), so it gives me some power, hehe. I suppose this is a selfish reason, but it's fun. I do like being in charge sometimes.
- It makes you think and it makes you happy. Trivia makes you think... sometimes the trivia is so far-fetched that you have no idea where to start, which is bad... sometimes you look at the question and the answer just pops into your head right away, as if I just told you the answer. But sometimes... sometimes the trivia just tickles your brain enough for you to go crazy, and then it makes you think. And then later it makes you happy when you solve it.

And that's what trivia means to me. You guys should post some trivia, maybe I'll try to solve them. Enjoy!

--- Fruit/Veg of the Week
This week's Fruit/Veg of the Week is the persimmon. Is the persimmon supposed to be hard or mushy when you eat it, or somewhere in the middle? All variations are good! But middle mushy is probably my favourite. Good flavour and great texture, the persimmon wins fruit/veg of the week. Go out and try one today!

--- Random Trivia!
I'm at work, so I can't make another audio puzzle. So I'm typing into gmail... so... a random trivia puzzle! It's Monday, so everyone's week is just starting, so I'll try to stick in some easy ones, but I can't promise too many to be easy. I'm putting in a lot of trivia pieces since I have lots of time, and I always put in a lot so there are greater chances that you won't leave empty handed, so to speak, after seeing the trivia. So go solve some of the List puzzle, and then try this random puzzle; remember, they can come from movies, tv, anime, books, popular phrases... everything!

1. "...Some possible damage to the Hippocampus, nothing conclusive..." - Wen solved
2. "To those I knew, and those I still adore, and I want to see once more, I just pray that will love me, and trust me" - Isaque solved
3. "See, kids are like dogs... you knock 'em around enough... they'll think they did something to deserve it..." - Isaque solved
4. "How do you own disorder, disorder? No - somewhere between the sacred silence, sacred silence and sleep... soooome... wheeere..."
5. "The bees are buzzing in the tree to make some honey just for me, when you look under the rocks and plants, and take a glance - at the fancy ants..."
6. "In twenty-three, hundred AD, I was left here to study the humans, and you came along, and I played this song, for youuu" - Alan solved
7. "I'm never gonna dance again, guilty feet have got no rhythm, though it's easy to pretend, I know you're not a fool" - Ambrose solved
8. "Sing, once again with me; our strange duet. My power over you... grows stronger yet! You'll give your love to me... for love is blind." - Ambrose solved
9. "... He was an American too; Doctor. Well, I've been on some benders on my time, but this guy, he was going for an all-time record. So it turns out, this guy has a son. Son's a doctor too." - Isaque solved
10. "She is a sweetheart of darkness, she looks amazing in a mini-skirt, it is her party..." (almost nobody will get this)
11. "There's fast. There's scary fast. Then there's 'remember this moment as long as you live' fast." (almost nobody will get this)
12. "I remember the night; scratching at my door; furry small and white; I shook you by the paw; cuz I like you my friend, I respect you my friend, I'll encourage you my friend, through and through.." - Isaque solved
13. "...rub soup..."
14. "...we're using about 10 pence worth of gas..." - Isaque solved
15. "... It doesn't break, jam, or overheat. It will shoot whether it's covered in mud or filled with sand. It's so easy, even a child can use it. And they do." - Ray solved

---The New Math
The song of the day is for you! This is a neat little gem that I downloaded in 2003, from a link from an Algebra textbook. It is from Tom Lehrer, who I assume is a teacher/comedian, and in this clip he teaches you about this "New Math" in song. Enjoy.
