Drifting to Victory

Okay, just in case you haven't read the previous entry, go read it! Basically, long story short, I'm updating more often so you should read previous entries in case you miss something.

In this entry:
--- car skidding
--- bad movies
--- artist trivia
--- I don't know

--- Car Skidding

So, when you're driving after or during the rain, and your car spins its tires after starting from a stop, what do you do? Do you continue to hold down on the acceleration, because you know in about half a second, the car will continue to accelerate as normal? Or do you let go, causing the car to jerk, and then slowly ease back on to get the car moving?

As you can tell, I like the first option better. That's what I do... it starts to skid, like, not move, but I continue to hold down the gas cuz I know in half a second it will be as normal... the other way it's just disruptive...

--- bad movies

Do you enjoy watching bad movies? We just rented "Ice Spiders", which was pretty bad, even after the blockbuster clerk recommended us not to rent it. I would say I liked Komodo vs Cobra better, but that might just be the setting and the obvious cheeseness of it. It was better than Snakes on a Train to say the least, although SOAT does have its charm in badness... from IceSpiders, there was a trailer for KAW, which is an awesome name... it's a movie about ravens that attack people, like The Birds, but cheesy. I'd like to see this. Oh, I also rented Dead or Alive, which I'll be watching tonight.

--- artist trivia

The other trivia from yesterday is still on, but here's another. I'm not really sure of... the level of musics among us. I mean, I know a lot of us are pretty bad at famous people... Wen and I are probably pretty decent, but we know David doesn't know who Paris Hilton is, Jia doesn't know who Gary Sinese is, and Duy doesn't know Donald Trump. But what about musics?

I think we all know Britney Spears, a handful of us know Matthew Good Band, and maybe one or two know of the Dave Matthews Band (FYI, I know of the Dave Matthews Band, and I've seen a picture of them once, but I haven't heard any of their songs). That's what I'm thinking.

So this trivia is a bit different. Here is a 1-minute mp3, composed of snippets from 5 songs; 4 of them from a single band/artist/group, and 1 different, just to throw it in. You get 3 points for correctly identifying the artist, 1 point for identifying which song (song #1, 2, 3, 4, or 5) is the odd one out, and a bonus point for naming the artist of the leftover song.

So this is just testing you out. Might be really easy, or hard, we'll see.

--- I don't know

Sometimes if you ask me a question, and I don't know the answer, I'll say "I don't know." Sometimes I'll say "I don't know... I'm not a dog." Which obviously comes from a tv show or movie... it's one of those things that I pick up... usually among us, we pick up popular lines from movies and videogames and simpsons/family guy and we use them in regular conversation, but somehow I manage to pick up some obscure line from a movie and I use it sometimes and Duy doesn't understand.

And sometimes, I would say "I don't know... I'm not a dog. Aks him." And when I say that, there's no particular "him", so it's really odd, and I sometimes I say Aks instead of Ask as a reference to Futurama or that other show that uses Aks instead of Ask.

Anyway, "I don't know... I'm not a dog. Ask him" is from Snatch.
