I'm Back from an awesome vacation!
I’m back, from a very awesome vacation! Wow, that was a good week and a half. As usual, I’ll make a webpage about it. We have over 4000 pictures spread over 3 cameras, but because of the nature of the vacation, about 80% of my shots were touristy pictures, so I won’t be posting too many of those, bwahaha. We also took about a gig worth of videos, so hopefully I’ll do some video-editing and make something nice.
As for China, I still have to post Guilin and Hong Kong, but that won’t happen for a while. We have relatives from Germany over, and soon a few from Vietnam, and still a cousin from Montreal, so I’ll be pretty afk for the next little while, playing with them, going out with them, etc.
Anyway, it was a great vacation. Woke up Saturday morning (of the 7th) at 3:00 to catch a 6:30 flight to Miami, got there around 10:00, made our way to the pier, and boarded our cruise ship, The Liberty At The Seas (the biggest cruise ship in the world), and set sail later in the afternoon.
We were at sea for 7 days, stopping off at Puerto Rico, St. Marteen, and Labadee, Haiti on the way. For 7 days we partied, relaxed in swimming pools and hot tubs, danced, ate free food, and tried different attractions like snorkeling and seadoo-ing. After the cruise, we spent a few days in Miami, seeing the sights, taking in the warm weather, and getting a taste of the American culture.
Here are a few pictures!

Here are the 12 of us, on the cruise, enjoying some breakfast. From the left side of the table, there’s my uncle, my aunt, my grandma, my mom, my dad, jon, Mai, myself, my cousin from montreal, Duy, Vinh, and my uncle’s wife.

Here’s the picture of our boat, the Liberty At The Seas, the biggest cruise in the world. Recently built a few months ago, we are the 8th voyage since the cruise ship was finished. The cruise had about 14 decks (floors), and it had everything, from restaurants to shops, to arcades to basketball courts, to fitness centers and spas, and of course, hotel rooms.
If you’ve never been on a cruise before, I highly recommend it, especially with a bunch of friends, and especially if you’re at least 21 (or 19 or whatever). It’s kinda like visiting a small town with its own shops and entertainment, and for 7 days you stay in that town with other people, and it’s party time all the time.

This is one of the many fine meals we had on the cruise – pictured here is a lobster tail and some shrimp. Many of the other meals were also of ‘licious quality, from fine pastas to great cuts of meat, to many other exotic dishes. After coming back from the cruise, I no longer feel the need to attend summerlicious, but I wouldn’t mind it if we still go.

Desserts weren’t too shabby either. I’ll post a lot more pictures of food on the full website!

Deck 13 (Floor 13) was mostly outdoors, featuring a mini-golf course, a rock-climbing wall, a basketball/sports court, and as we hoped, from pictures of other cruises – the flowrider, or the surfboard simulator. I tried it once… Let's just say I didn't do so well :P

Oddly enough, we did spend a lot of time in the arcade! The arcade wasn’t free, but we did spend a lot of time there – not just the boys, Mai and Jon did too. But it was fun.

Every now and then, we would relax and play some card games, or in this picture, we played scrabble. If you look very closely, you’ll notice it’s not regular scrabble… (while we’re on the subject, when we got back to Miami, I bought a new scrabble board!)

Ahh, the casino. I didn’t play real poker there, but I played Caribbean Stud Poker, which was fun. I played first on Day 2, and I was up $120. After that my winnings were less consistent, and I ended the cruise with a $45 profit.

Ahh, yessss, girls. Lots of girls on the ship. Additionally, there were these 82 girls celebrating their 15th birthday on the ship, which apparently is a tradition. They had a big party and celebration where a bunch of us went. Sounds wrong, eh? But whatever – apparently that’s their culture. It was a fun party :)

This is a picture of Duy, staring out the window in Miami. We did a lot of staring in Miami. In a way, it felt like I was playing Pokemon Snap :P

Lastly, when we arrived back in YYZ, our relatives from Germany were already at the airport, also waiting for the luggage to arrive. Now they’re here with us, visiting shopping malls and Niagara falls and things like that.
And that’s it for now! I hope to have more time to post more pictures and finish websites, but for now, I gotta go downstairs, my cousin and Jia wanna play games…
