I was going to write about how I was officially stuck in Guitar Hero 2. I must’ve tried Psychobilly Freakout on Expert 100 times, and I couldn’t get past 18%. Well, things changed. Yesterday I tried new techniques and hit 19%, and this morning I hit 20%, and then 82%. I practiced a few guitar solos for 15 minutes, and then I beat it! Wow, what a rush.
Looking back on it, the song wasn’t that hard. The first 10% has medium difficulty, the 2nd 10% is really hard, but after that the song becomes quite manageable. There are a few points where you’re dying, but then you get these easy parts or these star power parts so that you don’t actually die.
Maybe later I’ll write a few paragraphs on the hardest songs on my journey thus far. I think I overlapped Wen, that is, he’s now in level 7 on Hard, and I recently passed him and now I’m on level 8, on Expert. But Wen will eventually get to expert, and if he’s like me, he’ll get somewhat stuck on:
- Tattooed Love Boys
- Monkey Wrench
- Crazy On You
- Freya
- Stop
- Carry Me Home
- Psychobilly Freakout
So later I’ll write something about each of these. Anyways, I was going to ramble about songs I find “fun” in Expert, but instead, I’ll just try to type something more coherent.
Can’t think of anything. So I’ll just type.
I like “Less Talk More Rokk”, and thanks to Wen, I also like War Pigs.
Less Talk More Rokk has a lot of energy, feels like a techno song, and has a lot of fun challenges, as well as many relaxing parts to build back your rock meter. The co-op portion is almost as hard as the main portion.
War Pigs also has a lot of energy, and I find myself moving my body and guitar when I play the song, instead of just standing still, reading notes off the screen. The co-op portion is also pretty good, but not as good as its main.
(LTMR - YouTube - 100%) (War Pigs - YouTube - 100%) (Psychobilly Freakout - YouTube - 100%) (all from the same guy... um, not me though :P)
Anyway, the other day David was here and he asked if I can record the game and make video clips on my computer. At the time I said no, but I just bought something that lets me do that (better than my other tv tuner thing that I used before).
Anyway, I can’t wait till Friday night and Saturday day time, even if it doesn’t involve that much Guitaring. But I think it will.
