Age +1, Skill +1

So, it was my birthday on Monday, and now I’m 26. How does it feel? It feels… well, about the same. Usually we have a big birthday celebration or party, and it would feel like I got older. We had a party the weekend just before, but it wasn’t really a birthday party, it was just a get-together for 300, then breakfast, and dinner.

Also, 26 is just… 26. Like, 25 was a big deal, since it’s a quarter century. 26 is just 25+1. Probably nothing special until 29 or 30. We did have donuts at work though, and a few people said happy birthday to me, so it was kinda cool.

Anyway, this weekend Alan went to Waterloo… he left around 3:00, but I couldn’t go. Why? Because I was finally taking my G1 exit test at 4:00. And I passed. Yay.

Yay, I have my G2 now. Sure, it’s about 8-10 years later than a normal person, but it’s done now… I no longer have my parents looming over me, forcing me to get it done, so it’s a relief. Eventually they’ll start bugging me about the full G, but not just yet. And I have until 2010 to get that :P

So, I have my G2. My mom no longer needs to bug my uncle to drop something off at the bank; I can do that. Duy doesn’t have to be the only one that picks up Jia or drops David off at home. I can do that too. So Skill +1 also gets me Responsibility +1. Isn’t that wonderful? Now to learn the map of Mississauga… is Dixie parallel to Mavis? Does Burnhamthorpe run East to West or North to South? What’s between Eglinton and Dundas?

Anyway, so this weekend is looking to be pretty lackluster. The Waterlooers are still there, and as I said, Alan is visiting Waterloo this weekend. I’m not sure if David’s up to anything, I think he is though. Andy’s back though, so maybe we’ll just chill. At the very least, I’ll catch up on some sleep.
