Good food, new games, old games

I don’t know any of them, but I’m leaning toward something for 118, and 143 is on the tip of my tongue but I can’t get any farther. Oh, and one of these is worth 9 points.

::edit:: Enjoy the music trivia? But really bad at it? Visit my other blog for another update =) ::/end edit::

(On a totally unrelated note, I decided on what I want for Christmas, if anyone’s getting me anything – I want something which I wouldn’t usually buy, but that I might want, heh. Something like DOAXV or DOAX2 would be pretty hilarious. Unfortunately, reviews aren’t so good, but it looks so pretty…..^_^)

Anyway, that was a good weekend! It all started with the Winmagic Christmas party on Friday. We had the party at our house, so we had maybe, 100 people. I invited Jia but he didn’t have a ride, so we picked him up, which was hard because we didn’t know where he lived, and his house is too new that it doesn’t appear on Mapquest or Google maps. Anyway, so we had 100 people – about 40 employees, 20 spouses, 25 kids and bunch of family and friends. Fun times, fun times.

Had good food, good times, good playing and socializing, giving presents away, all the regular party stuff. But, I think we ordered too much food, but better safe than sorry, right? We ordered food, so maybe 8 lobsters died for our party, and so did 3 turkeys, and a few chickens and many shrimp… we had lots of good food, like spring rolls, shu mai’s, roast beef, turkey, wonton’s, Christmas log cakes, other cakes, etcetera. It was fun.

Anyway, we had too much food, so guess what we ate for Saturday lunch, Saturday dinner, and Sunday lunch? Yeah, we had more turkey, fried rice, shu mai’s, etc… heehee. And we still have some left over! So we’re freezing it, and maybe we’ll take it up to Montreal and have a big feast there, or bring some back to the company and we’ll enjoy it tomorrow.

I hear Jean-Paul got drunk. Ricky turned beet-red. I didn’t drink too much – had a bailey’s for the first time (which I like), and then had a corona near the end. Speaking of which, we still have lots of drinks leftover. I’m hoping we could use some for my party on the 23rd. We have over $100 of alcohol left, and $100 of beer, as well as 14 bottles of pop. Also, we did lots of cleaning prior to the party, so hopefully the house remains clean until my party.

So, that’s it about the WinMagic Christmas party. Jia stayed over until Sunday night, and then we brought him home. Amish and Ambrose came over on Saturday; Jia played Smash with Ambrose, Amish and I finished Gears of War. Ambrose went home, and then we downloaded a new xbox live arcade game called Assault Heroes, which is a two-player co-op scrolling-shooter game where you control tanks, with a similar control scheme to geometry wars (move with left joystick, fire and aim with right).

Amish eventually left, and Jia found a serial code for C&C Generals and Zero Hour, so we played that over the network with each other. I had First Decade, and you don’t need the cd after loading the game, so we can play it simultaneously, which is good =) Later that night, Ambrose, Duy, Hawk, myself and Jia played various pictionary games like iSketch and Yahoo Graffiti online. Haven’t played those for a while, I love those games.

Sunday, Jia and I played more Generals, watched some of the Videogame Awards, go home and then bought the full version of Assault Heroes, since he said he’ll pay for half of it. So it was a good deal, and it’s a fun game! Not overly short, and very actiony and fun, and still simplistic to play. I like games like that. Went to eat dinner at the other house, watched Simpsons and the Survivor Finale (taped Family Guy), and… that’s it.

So, that was a weekend with good food, old games, and new games. Next weekend shall be about the same – good food, old games like magic, old friends from highschool, new games like wii. And hopefully nobody gets too drunk, but a bit tipsy would be fun. And, I just contacted an old friend and he’ll be coming to the party. He’s one of the most sought after party-people. No, it’s not Rhys. But here’s a clue: I haven’t seen him in a long time, and his name starts with Andrew and ends with Paton.
