It didn’t work out, so I’m not working there anymore

I’ve already told most of you on MSN, but not everyone. So to make it fully known… it didn’t work out at my new job. So I’m not working there anymore. They say I don’t work fast enough – I say they didn’t have enough work for me to do. They also say that they didn’t feel comfortable giving me work to do. So I don’t know. I think it’s unfair, and I tried to argue it, but to no avail.

So, no matter how you say it, I’m not working there anymore, and in the meantime, I’m not working. So Tuesday, Wednesday, and today I haven’t worked. Yesterday I did go to lunch with WinMagic – celebrating the release of 4.2SR4, 50 of us went to Pho’99. It was nice seeing them again. Anyway, Lanny suggested I should work in QA, so I’ll think about it.

My next step? Work in QA, or find work again. Right now I’m talking a little break though, heh. I finally watched the Full Metal Alchemist movie – after downloading it in January, I finally watched it. It was pretty good. Ending was okay, poor Winry though. Subtitles sucked. I give it a generous 7/10 for the first half (subtitles), and a 3/10 for the 2nd half (subtitles).

I also got caught up on StrongBad E-mails – I haven’t been there for many months yet I only checked 14 e-mails. Still good stuff though. And lastly, I finally decided to watch the last 2 episodes of the legendary Azumanga Daioh. It’s like I’ve been saving them because it’s such a legendary epic, that I didn’t want it to come to an end (same with FMA). And, now it’s done.

Wow, I didn’t expect to spend so many paragraphs to say that I don’t work at EyeReturn anymore. But whatever. I guess since everyone wants it, I’ll fill in some parts that I didn’t fill in from the previous entry.

First, the Kakari animation… well, I couldn’t find ANYTHING about it on the web, so I might as well write about it. It’s a pencil animation about… let’s call him the “Elephant Inspector.” He starts off knocking on an elephant – first from behind, saying “Bitsh” each time he taps the elephant. Then he checks the elephant’s leg, and says “Dut” when he taps it. Then he takes a sticker from his pocket, and posts it on the elephant, and it says something like “Designated for London.” Then he does some motion with his arms, and birds come by and sit on the elephant. Then he does another motion, and the birds whisk the elephant off to its designation, and then another elephant is placed there for the elephant inspector to inspect.

This goes on for a while… and then at the end something happens, but that’s not important. Heh. Did any of that make sense? No? Good. That’s why it’s so good. Must see it.

Since I sat down in the animation festival, I was wondering what it’d be like if my animation showed up. Some of these look like random weekend projects… or, random month projects… speaking of random projects, check this thing I found on youtube about a hamster. I think it’s awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIP7djqpeK0

Anyway, back to Saturday afternoon. At around 2:58 pm, Alan was already at our house, and Jason was nowhere to be found. We didn’t have his address or his phone number, so we decided to abandon the superdraft idea and just go over to Ambrose’s house. Duy called Ray and told him to meet us at Ambrose’s house. Duy hangs up, and then… “ding dong…”

Jason shows up at our door. So this is the chaoticness of it all. Jason comes in and says, “let’s draft!” which… brings us to the chaotic dilemma. We’ve been planning this draft for a while now, so we should do it, but we just called Ray and told him that we’ll be at Ambrose’s. Plus, now that Duy has the idea of going to Ambrose’s, he pretty much doesn’t want to draft anymore.

Had Jason come 5 minutes earlier, we probably would’ve stayed and drafted. But he came later than 5 minute earlier (duh), so… it was all… weird. Anyway, as most of you know, it turns out we did go to Ambrose’s, but we brought the cards just in case. And then when Ray left, Ambrose played Trauma Center (which does look interesting), and we started drafting.

So I’ll post about Magic some other time… for now, I want to do some other stuff…
