Trouble at VM Hacker Point

Okay! So, all week I’m busy enough to not post anything, and now that it’s the weekend, and it’s Friday night, what do I do with my time? Of course, I post!

First, I’ll post 3 songs which you can listen to while you read my post. I’d like to say it’s like a soundtrack for my post, but it’s really not. Just something to make you feel cheerful while you read this.

Movie Movie Movie

Onward ho! Last weekend, Ambrose, Ray, and I saw The Departed and The Prestige. They seemed to like The Prestige, I thought the acting and all that was pretty good, but I didn’t care too much for the movie – plot and whatever-wise. It’s all about one-upmanship, which is okay, but yeah… anyway, I thought The Departed was pretty good. I haven’t seen Infernal Affairs though.

(::edit:: - okay, I just read some parts of a thread on IMDB about The Prestige, and everyone's giving it great ratings. So I don't want to be a hypocrite, so I'll say I still didn't totally like the movie that much, but I can see why it's good. Like other Christopher Nolan films, there are twists, and whole philosophies about stuff. So below the surface, it's a pretty deep film. I didn't think the last twist was that good, but then I read some more and it's actually a bit bigger than I felt it to be. So... because of twists and philosophies... I'll recommend it for now. On the surface though... it's an okay movie. ::/end edit::)

The next day, my sister rented Click (Adam Sandler, Christopher Walken, etc) – and it was actually pretty good! It was pretty funny, and I have to admit – I sorta cried at the end. Not cry cry, of course, I wouldn’t admit that, hah – but more cry than, um, a lot of other things. Anyway, the movie was actually pretty good.

Anyway, I guess the Toronto Film Festival premium is wearing off. Death of a President is in theatres now, Borat comes out next week, and a bunch of other movies are coming out. We should see Borat opening night or something.

Alarm Alarm

This week, for the first time ever, the alarm at our front door went off. Well, a few days before it started making a noise everytime we opened the front door. Then, on Tuesday, I came home, and my dad was there, and then I opened the front door, and after a few seconds, the alarm went off. And we didn’t know how to turn it off.

It was really loud. Actually, I taped some of it on my camera. Heh. But yeah, it was loud. You could probably hear it from the house across from us. We’re not sure how it happened – we think some random person came by and pressed some buttons and set in the code.

So after about 20 minutes of the alarm blaring, we finally turned it off somehow. It wasn’t a pleasant experience. Anyway, skip forward to Wednesday morning – I get into work, around 8:40 – usually someone’s there around 8:45, whatever. So I get to the door, and I open it – it’s not locked, so someone must be there… and then the alarm goes off! And it’s the same sound as the our alarm. What the hell.

Anyway, so then I just went to the bathroom, and 5 minutes later the boss comes and turns it off. And then I tell him the story, and he said the cleaners probably left it open… anyway, I’ll probably get the alarm code later. Nowadays, I try to get there after 9… since I pretty much leave after 5:20 every day, I might as well not come in at 8:40…

Work Work

The week went okay. Monday and Wednesday were pretty stressful, the rest of the days were okay though. Our first big project goes live on Monday… and I got my first paycheque! Yay. So work is okay. I have a bit of trouble here and there, but with help from the others, everything turns out okay. I like Victoria – she and I are working on this big project together, and we’re becoming fast friends. She has a boyfriend, which sucks for me, but I suppose that makes me less shy. Oh well.

So I’ve been eating out all week long, for the past two weeks. It’s not tooo bad… well, I found some nice cheap place that sells $2 sandwiches, which wasn’t that bad. I think I’ll eat there more often. But usually, I go out with the other guys, and then I get to explore all there is around Yonge and Eglinton.

Lost Heroes

Dare I say it? I think I look forward to the next episode of Heroes, more than the next episode of Lost. I’m really enjoying Heroes. I like the Japanese guy and the cheerleader, who apparently is really important now. They both are. Anyway, I guess one of you will torrent Heroes when it comes out. Also, I haven’t been keeping up with BSG since we missed that one episode, so I’ll need to get it from Ricky. Wish I can get it during the day’s rolling. Like that’s possible.
