Energy Registration
Okay, so the other day I was applying for jobs on Monster.ca, with my newly updated resume and portfolio website ready. So it was the morning of September 7th, and then I went off to work, and in the afternoon, I checked my e-mail, and there was a letter, inviting me to an interview!
However, I think it’s for a job I didn’t apply for, for a company I didn’t apply for. Monster sends you confirmation of applications, and I didn’t get one from these guys, so I didn’t apply to them. So I applied to web design, graphic design, flash actionscripting, those kind of positions… but… “energy registration”?
The company is called Universal Energy, and if you go to their website (.ca), you can learn about Electric energy and natural gas energy, and how you could use it in your home. So, that’s okay so far, maybe they want me to do some website upgrade with flash or something. So I scroll down, and there’s a job description:
- Registration of customers on natural gas and electricity programs
- Business to Business (Commercial)
- Door to Door registration (Residential)
- English language and good communications skills necessary.
Umm… okay then. Not quite the job I’m looking for, so unless it was actually a different job, I don’t think I want it. Anyone else want it for me? Also, they said they wanted to interview me on Tuesday, September 11th… which doesn’t exist, at least, not in 2006. And, lastly, they wanted me to e-mail them to confirm the interview.
So, I had three reasons to e-mail them, and that I did. I e-mailed them, about the job position and maybe a clarification on which company this is (maybe it’s Illuminated Technologies, which owns UE, and their job description is slightly off – that would be nice) – and of course, the clarification on what date the interview is.
That was Thursday. No reply by Friday noon-ish, so I replied again, and still no reply. Shucks. So, unless I get some e-mail by Monday, telling me the job is actually a flash related job, I don’t think I’ll take it. But the location’s not bad. 10 minute walk from Pho 99 :P
