Mini post
Good to see comments =) Anyway, I meant to post this before going to La Maquette (Summerlicious) but ran out of time – so just a mini post about a couple things. I’ll post about La Maquette (along with pictures) in a few days.
Bowling
Okay, so my Rakdos Wrecking Ball (that’s the name of my bowling ball now) and I went bowling with the company again – played 3 games, 3rd game doesn’t count toward my average though. I bowled my first 100! Sweet. But then, my Rakdos Wrecking Ball thought “ooh, too high above the average, must lower it” – so then I bowled a 54.
Before the third game, Cindy taught us how to spin the ball. So, for the third game, first I tried spinning the ball, and I got 0 points, but I wanted to keep trying. Second… um, score thing, so..3rd frame? I scored a 7, so I thought, “wow, spinning could actually work!”
And my score at the end of the game? Using only spins? 8. So… yeah, that didn’t work. First, my aim’s still not terribly good. Secondly, I think I throw too weakly, so it always starts spinning before it even gets close to the pins, and just misses everything. If I got stronger, it would be perfect. Anyway, my dad also tried just spinning for the 3rd game, and he scored 46.
Cardio
I started a semi-effort to start losing some weight – the best way to do that is cardio, so from the P90X dvds, I’ve just been doing cardio lately. This week I’ve done it 4 times, Mon/Tue/Thu/Sat, and so far… well, that’s good. 43 minute work out, and it’s the easiest among all the P90X exercises, so it doesn’t feel like work, which means I can keep it up.
Xboxu San Rokujuou
Played more Xbox 360, but mainly, I found out that people in Japan get to download different videos and demos, and there’s a way you can get those demos. So, I did that – there’s just one demo, for a mech game called Zegapain XOR, and it’s okay. There are some neat videos, in Japanese, for games like Every Party, Bullet Witch, and Square Enix’s Project Sylpheed.
Coldsnap
We had the magic draft yesterday – tomorrow I’ll probably blog about it on my other blog, for those interested.
My game
Last but definitely not least… what do I do at work? Well, when there’s work, I do it, but technically, I go to work so that I’m not at home. If I’m at home, I play games – if I’m at work, my primary responsibility is “work on my career”, which in my mind, means “put stuff on resume” and, for media-type stuff, “put stuff in portfolio”. So what I’m doing in the office now is playing around with Flash. I did some C++ before, learned Illustrator and InDesign, so now I’m doing some Flash.
So I’m learning it, but also, you can’t just have tech demos in your resume, so one of the things I want to do is to complete a whole game, or at least enough of a game. So right now, I’m working on a “Zelda” type game – and now I have a working demo for it, and I want you to play it!

The EXE is a meg, and the game plays smoother and faster, so I recommend the exe. There’s not much to the game right now, but I added a beginning and an ending, and a goal, so there are objectives you can follow. I hope you enjoy it, and any feedback would be cool. The demo takes about 5 minutes to complete, or a bit more if you die :P
And that’s it for that post. Later I’ll put up a link to another flash movie I made about a year ago.
