Real Friends and the Weekend Forecast + song of the day
When I say real friends, I mean, Bao’s friends. I mean, who do I hang around and talk with nowadays? Who reads this blog? There’s Wen, Jason, Alan, David, etc, and then Kyle, Christa, Ching, etc – other than Ching, all these friends originate from my brother, Duy, who went to Woodlands/Dolphin/etc with these kids. That’s not to say that they’re just friends-of-a-brother – no, they’re my friends too. Some of them also became more my friend than Duy’s friends. I don’t think David really talks to Duy anymore, and when he calls this house he’s always asking for me.
Anyway, I’m not really complaining, but then one must ask, what happened to Bao’s real friends? That is, for example, Amish (since grade 3), Lachlan and Jody (since highschool), etc from university, etc?

Anyway, they’re still around. I thought of this topic because yesterday and the day before that those 3 messaged me. We just talked for a bit. Jody’s still a freelance bum, Amish is still taking pictures at weddings, and Lachlan’s working at Mercer, and he recently got engaged. So that’s cool. Lachlan’s having a birthday party the day we’re going to Summerlicious, so I’ll attend the party for a bit, and then head over to Toronto.
Weekend Forecast
Every now and then I have a weekend forecast, so we know what’s happening when and stuff, instead of sending mass e-mails out to some people and some e-mails to some ‘magic-only’ people… so, what’s happening over the next few weeks?
July 1st – Canaday weekend – It’s the long weekend, so maybe we can do several things? There was a rumour that Jia was coming back, but it turns out it was just that, a rumour. There’s still a few magic cards left, so maybe that will be this weekend? Otherwise, this weekend’s pretty much free – we can watch a movie, we can get together for gaming, whatever whatever.
July 7th/8th – Pirates comes out on July 7th, and I hear we might be going to that! I want to, Ray wants to, Ricky wants to, and I’m sure a lot of other people will be up for it, so maybe we’ll watch it opening day. (Speaking of which, Superman comes out soon too).
8th, as I said, I’m going to Lachlan’s party for a bit, and then we’re going to Toronto for our first meal for Summerlicious. 8th will be a busy day indeed.
July 15th – nothing has been planned for this yet! Ideas would be good.
July 22nd – The second outing for Summerlicious. Also, I think a new magic set is coming out this weekend. I doubt we’ll be able to squeeze the magic set into the Saturday, and people will come back too late on the Friday, so the magic thing will have to wait. Hmm, can’t wait for Salmon & King Crab Roulade, while someone else orders the Veal, and we’ll split half and half… yumm…
July 29th – nothing planned yet. I think Waterloo exams start early in the Spring term, so they might be knee-deep in exams starting around here.
Additionally, there’s one other thing which came to my mind today – I hear there’s a Smash tournament happening again circa July 10th. Also, I wanted to spend a week in Waterloo this term… perhaps I’ll spend the 9th until the 14th in Waterloo? That’d be neat…
[Last and maybe also least, answers and facts from previous posts: Both BSG and Bobobo episode 1 start with “Previously on…” so I almost turned off BSG episode 1. Secondly, I wasn’t kidding about Shrimp in Chocolate Sauce - Embrujo Flamenco Tapas Restaurant serves it. Hmm, I wanna try that… maybe I should make a reservation there for lunch? $15 ain’t bad…]
