Busy Busy

Sorry I haven’t blogged for a while – it’s just that I don’t have any time anymore. I go to work fulltime now at my dad’s office, so there’s just no time. We work crazy long hours; Mondays are usually the longest, from around 9:00 until 7:00. Other days it’s 10:30 or 11:00 until 7:00, but in most days, we leave the office around 7:00 and get home, eat dinner, stay there and watch some tv or whatever, and then it’ll be about 9:00. Some days I exercise, some days I watch CSI, so then I only really have computer time between 9:00-10:00 and 11:00-12:00, and then I go to bed. Lately, I’ve been playing poker online during the 11:00-12:00 timeslot.

And then come the weekends, where Jia and/or Duy come over and we play games a lot, so there’s not too much time for blogging. That, and there’s a backlog of blogging topics, so I’m not sure where I want to start. So let’s see…

I started exercising. I’m not really following the program that I bought, but I am watching the videos and trying to exercise with them to the best of my ability. Instead of exercising every day, I exercise once every two days, and I switch the programs every time. Sometimes I’m in the mood for upper body, or legs, or cardio, or whatever, but I usually stick with abs every Friday.

I think I’m eating a little less food, but not to the point that it matters enough. The “look-don’t touch” philosophy isn’t really working so well, since all the food looks so good :P I’ve been to all-you-can-eat buffets a couple times, so I’ve made it a habit to eat more salad. The last time I went to Mandarin, I had Caesar salad and mandarin oranges on each of my non-dessert bowls. I love Mandarin oranges.

And I go to work full time. Yeah, you know that already. For the first week or so, I was working on a flyer for my dad’s company, working with another company. My dad does disk encryption, the other company does biometrics (fingerprint identification) so it seems like a good match, so the flyer was pretty important. My dad wants me to learn C++, so a co-worker, Kevin, is spending about an hour each day teaching me some C++. We’re not learning disk encryption yet, but we’re going through the basics. Syntax, classes, recursion, all those things you learn in lower-year university courses and highschool and whatever. So that’s sorta fun. I’m actually on the payroll now, so my sense of money might change a bit.

While I’m at work, I spend a few minutes at the beginning of each day reading some articles about news and stuff, and then I check my e-mails and start working. I decided to make my environment more business-like, so I don’t listen to music or chat on msn while I’m at work. Thus, I can’t blog at work either. However, I do sometimes read/write e-mails from my Gmail address.

Similarly, I don’t take my C++ projects home; I keep my business there, and keep my pleasures at home.

In other news… well, I haven’t updated my other blog lately either. I did say once that I wanted to update that blog about once a day, no matter who reads it or not. But it’s so much more satisfying writing for an audience than writing for myself. The other blog reports on stuff around the web, neat stuff, stuff about games, movies, etc – there’s not really much of a point if I’m writing for myself. I can think to myself, talk to myself, so why write for me?

Anyway, maybe I’ll update it eventually. As I said, I do have a backlog of stuff, and a few other posts that I want to write about – games this, games that, King Kong, Mr. and Mrs. Smith – there’s just so much in the media and whatever else to write about. Anyhow, so that’s where I’ve been.
