Pointy Music, Trivial List, and Simon
It sure sucks when you have so many things you want to write about, eh? And for optimal comment, you should only post a lot about 1 subject, but for maximum coverage, you have to cover all subjects, so what happens is I write a pointform update. asia trip, and that will take the majority of the comments as it is the biggest thing.
So to solve this problem? Make all the things equally as important! But that’s impossible. So, in somewhat particular order…
MUSIC TRIVIA – Remember a long time ago, EVERYONE, at least in the Christa circle posted a music trivia? The usual, test of 20 different song lyric lines, guess the song and the band. When this happened, I branched out and got in touch with new friends, such as Laine and Jess. Anyway, at the time I also made an audio trivia of my own. It was the first music trivia I made for the blog people, so I decided that it shouldn’t be too hard.
And now… I’ve made another one.
http://www.baomon.com/board/trivia-aug-2005-real.mp3 - 20 song clips, 47 seconds. I guarantee that this one will be at least 100% harder, although the sources of the songs are more common. At least 17 of the 20 songs have been on MuchMusic and the radio. Once again, e-mail answers to me.
As a point of reference, Jess will still probably get at least 15/20 on her first listen. David on the other hand, has a 20% chance on one of them, 25% on another, 5% on two more, and about 1% on everything else. Duy will get some more right cuz he knows what I listen to. Anyway, good luck, and at least enjoy it! :D (for your reference, if you don’t get the one between 0:18-0:21, it’s okay, I realize after making it that it actually might be hard)
… actually, I think I’ll cut this update short. Just a few more points.
We didn’t have the magic draft yet, but the fakedraft is still set for the 20th. Tomorrow Ricky and Wen (and Jia is here already) are coming over to play a d20 campaign.
Check Wen’s blog for a link to a blog novel, Simon of Space, which I’m currently reading. Chapter 3 sucked me in. The author is the same one as the Darth Vader blog's author. AND... the author posted a comment in Wen's blog! It's like meeting a celebrity ^^
I miss Japan
Full Metal Panic 2nd raid is pretty cool. Lots of action, and it helps that we all love Sousuke. Chidori and the rest of the gang’s back too. Won’t be as good without them.
Lastly, I was wondering what everyone’s top 5 movies and top 5 anime were. Just wondering, maybe there’s something there that I should watch that I haven’t seen. Just wondering. Since I’m keeping this update short, I’ll just list them and put explanations on the next update.
A list of 7 movies out of my top 10 (not necessarily in this order):
1. The Rock
2. Fight Club
3. Return of the King
4. Memento
5. Snatch
6. Zoolander
7. Ocean’s Eleven
Face/off used to be 1st. That fell. Fell a lot.
1. Full Metal Alchemist
2. Initial D (in order, 1st, 4th, 2nd, 3rd, extra, not including live action and battle)
3. Azumanga Daioh
4. Gankutsuou
5. I don’t know… GTO and Trigun want this spot, but for now, I’ll say URDA :)
That’s it. List your favourite anime (and maybe why?) and movies, recommend me stuff, and enjoy the trivia; try it out, even if you don’t listen to music.
**edit**: I forgot a couple things. It just slipped my mind.
My computer got spyware'd. I must've clicked on some link, and then I went to this page that apparently got through my pop-up blocker, altering IE's settings to disable the pop-up blocker. Once that happens, anything can happen. Spyware installed anti-spyware software on my computer. They changed my background so it was a big link to a spyware company. Popup ads, all the time - opening IE, closing some windows, and sometimes randomly too. Changed it so that "display properties" was just "settings" and "screensaver". And a lot of other stuff. Jia fixed some of it, but it's still all poopy.
About a year ago I got gmail, but didn't use it until maybe 3 months ago. About 4 months ago, I bought my first MMO, Guildwars. And now, two more things happened. First, because of this spyware problem, I've switched to Mozilla Firefox. Secondly, I started playing the god of all games, D2X.
No, not my god, and not the god for me. Anyway, I guess it's an okay game. However, like a bunch of games, it's better when you're playing with people the same level as you. When I play with Jia and Ray and some other guy, it's like, I take a few seconds to look at my inventory, and then I look back on the map and they've moved on like, 10 rooms without me. I go back to town, and when I get in and start to sell stuff, they're already starting the next quest.
So basically, I spend half the time running around empty rooms, trying to catch up to them, which isn't exactly the most fun. Anyway, we haven't bought a copy for me yet, I'm just trying it out on Duy's computer with his copy. So it'll be a fun game if I didn't spend all that time running around in empty rooms... **end edit**
