Ring Ring Ring Ring Ring, Drifting, Drafting, and no more Alchemy

It’s been a week! So… a lot or a little has happened since then, depending how you look at it. So, let’s get right to it.

-----Songs of the Day
David requested more tender stuff, but I gotta do Jia’s request first; as well, I want to do it too. When I first heard this song, I thought either Jia has gone crazy, or that either Rama or Hawk made him listen to it. Well, I was right, Rama was the one who did it. http://www.baomon.com/board/banana.mp3 Is Raffi’s Banana Phone song. It’s a children’s song, and sounds crazy if you imagine Jia listening to it. After you’ve listened to it once or twice, you can listen to the main song of the update. http://www.baomon.com/board/bananaSLOW.mp3 is exactly that; Raffi’s Banana Phone song, in half-speed. It’s a hefty download at 7.3 mb, but it’s worth it. It’s a jazzy, mayan ritual kinda song, rather than a children’s song. In the words of Jia, the song (slow version) “drives you kuru”. It’s definitely worth hearing. Especially late at night. Over and over again. It drives you kuru. Comment.

-----Wen
The other day was Wen’s birthday. Well, first Duy told me about it, and then I was wondering if we could buy him a present. So I say to myself, ‘let’s buy him that KD game!’ So then I check his blog to make sure he hasn’t bought it yet, but it turns out that it’s hard to find, and alas, that’s true. So I check out futureshop.ca for other stuff, and I find a game that I might want to buy for him!

However, later on the drive back, I ask Alan about the genre, and he says Wen doesn’t like that genre too much. So, cancel that. Besides, I wouldn’t have a way to get it anyway. In case you’re wondering what the game was… well, you can take a guess. It’s a game David might buy (maybe not now, but when it drops $10, down to $30). I’d probably buy it too… I’m a fan of the series… and now with a 2-player co-op mode, it’ll be definitely worth it. I think.

-----Random
The gamefaqs character contest is over. I lost 38 points, which means I need to play more games :P Specifically, I need a PS2 to play FFX and stuff. I didn’t know that Tidus was NOT popular, and Auron WAS. Oh well. As for other news, we played Total Annihilation, Core Contingency the other day, that was… bad and slow. Played more Warcraft 3. Played more Sega Rally 2, and received Sega Rally 1, something’s wrong with it.

So I’ve joined the poker club and I’ve played 3 weeks worth of games. First week lost 5, 2nd week spent 15 to get 20, so broke even. Yesterday I played, and… ehhh… Anyway, watched more Elfen Lied. Also, Full Metal Alchemist is now over, except for a movie scheduled to be released next year. Overall, the series was awesome, had some low points, last few episodes had a different vibe from it, some parts were stupid, but overall great. Ending was a bit sad.

-----Draft
Lastly, last weekend we had a draft. Duy, myself, Alan, Jason, and David participated. Anyway, Alan hasn’t updated for a while, and he posted a good concise update about the previous draft, so he should update about that :P So, the draft went pretty well, David was a bit late, Alan had mixed feelings about his deck (read about it when he writes about it), and overall it was fun. In fact, it was good enough to get us partially addicted to magic again, as we’re having another draft in Waterloo tomorrow afternoon. Hehehe.

So, Alan should blog eventually, about… well, both drafts I guess :P And here we are, at the end of Thursday’s blog. Friday, the draft, and going home late at night, say, after 9, probably after 10. Saturday = gameage with Brose. Sunday and Monday, Thanksgiving stuffies I suppose.
