Shorter Updates, and Vietnamese pokerburning...
Alright! It’s Wednesday night, and here’s another update. So soon, eh? Well, I’ve gotten pseudo-complaints that my blog entries are too long; they take too much time and effort to read, and I guess they’re harder to reply to (although they cover so many subjects). Maybe that’s why it’s hard to reply to.
I used to have much smaller updates, every 2-3 days, and nowadays I have larger updates every 5-7 days, so I think I can work this out… go back to some smaller updates. That is, shorter updates, with less topics per update. With longer updates, they cover a lot of topics, and then the next update will be many days away, so you have time to read the previous update, and so that more topics will be covered in the next update. So much time would pass so that everyone can read the previous update, and provide comments and discuss or argue about the update or the other comments posted.
So, with shorter updates, there are less topics, so comments will be more precise and focused, and I guess there will be more of them, if, as people said, they would be easier to read. Another problem also seems to be the way my blog is set up, with a full browser width to read the entries; so this entry will be tabled, so it’ll be easier to read. I find Ambrose’s long posts easier to read than my long posts for that reason.
Anyway, so posts will be shorter now. This one will be a bit longer than short, since I did spend half an M-sword page talking about how my entries will be shorter. And, at the top of each update, will be the music download update. Nobody commented on that last time! David sure provided a lot of comments, but he didn’t comment on music! Come on! It’s LEON LAI! …
The first song is… not that special! It’s a kinda funny/silly song, but its origin is unmatched. It might be a rumour, but the story is that there was this guy who signed up for a dating service, and he had an audio personal-ad; and then, someone took it, remixed it, added stuff, and made a song out of it! And now the guy is half famous. So, the song is funny, silly, and the lyrics are, well, a personal-ad. So that’s how it’s funny. It’s not in my top 20 or anything, but here it is, for your fun pleasure (oh yeah, the guy’s name is Mahir, and apparently I last updated this file June 2003, but I’m sure it’s older):
http://www.baomon.com/board/mahir-ikissyou.mp3 - Mahir, I kiss you, 3.2 mb
The 2nd song is… kinda funny. Not funny funny, but funny in the sense that, ‘Lime in the Coconut’ is funny. I got this song from an internet friend, whom I haven’t spoken to in years (cuz she disappeared off the internet). When you listen to it, it feels like you’re in a jungle. It seems to be an original song, so it’s unique. There are some French lyrics at the end, not sure why they’re there. So here it is:
http://www.baomon.com/board/manu-chao.mp3 - Manu Chao - Bongo Bong (King of the Bongos), 4.4 mb
Unfortunately, my FTP is a crap-ass, so I can’t upload my 3rd song right now. I just thought of the 3rd song today… anyway, I really like music-box versions of songs for some reason. Ya know, take a song, and then simplify it in a way so that you can play it in a music box, but not simplified too much. Anyway, in Elfen Lied, especially episode 9, you can hear a good portion of the intro song from a music box. So that will come next time.
Luckily for you guys though, my FTP did work yesterday, so I uploaded this update’s songs (except today’s musicbox song) and next update’s songs have been uploaded. Next update will be a Symphonia song, and a comparison to a metal song, along with this Elfen thing. Last but not least:
http://www.baomon.com/khan.wav - Enjoy.
Hmm… I might have to split this update into two. We’re already on MSWORD page 2, 2.9” down… argh, wasting too many precious lines! AHHH!! So, onto… stuff. Instead of adding so many headlines, I’ll just say each paragraph is dedicated to one topic.
First, I just went to the first VSA club meeting – however, nobody wants to read about this. If nobody wants to come to the first intro meeting of the term, then nobody for sure would want to read about it. So, I was there, all by myself today, boohoo.
I knew that would happen! On my way home from the meeting, I stop by the convenience store because I needed Iced tea, so I bought two iced teas. And I knew it… came home, open the fridge, and there was an iced tea and a sprite berry remix already waiting for me. Oh well. You can never have enough iced tea :P
Today I went to Andy’s place in Renison, and watched anime with Andy, Amy, and Jason. Samurai 7 1-2, Shinobuden 1, Elfen Lied 1, and Chrno Crusade 4. They really liked Shinobuden (Digi Charat with Ninjas), and Elfen Lied (Kill Bill with Chobits). In other words… we’ll be watching Shinobuden here soon! It’s a little silly, but definitely funny (and not fromwhere Bobobo-like). Andy and Amy now have Elfen Lied 1-9, so they’ll watch it and catch up to us. As for Shinobuden, we should probably watch eps 2-8 with them, if you guys (Wen, Jason, Alan, Duy) will like them.
Wednesday night, CSI New York, taped it, didn’t watch it yet. Had to go to the poker club first meeting, that was fun. Had a game. Some beginners, some pros, overall a fun time. $5 buy-in, tournament style, last 3 people win stuff (out of 10), Andy won $10. Some interesting personalities at the table, from trash-talkers, to loud mouths, to quiet people, and etc. Should be a fun term.
Prior to that, walked to Wen’s house to play Burnout 3. Now I know where Westmount and Renison are, so I can explore other areas around there. Burnout 3 was cool. There are changes between Burnout 3 and 2, some I like, some I dislike. It’s certainly more stylish in 3, and I guess graphics are better, and more modes are always cool. Then there are other things I wish that were changed, but they weren’t, so that’s no good (like how single player looks totally amazing compared to multiplayer). And stuff.
And… well, that’s 2 pages in MSWord, so the update is done. I think I’ll have to experiment with that for a bit… I still blogged about a lot of topics, but put much less effort into each topic, so the update doesn’t feel like it has any heart in it. But yes, the update took definitely less time to write… so we’ll see what happens.
It’s not like I write for people. I write for me. But then again, I do like writing for others.
Anyway, nobody’s home, so I’m home alone now. What to do… well, I just finished blogging… I wonder what’s on the tele…
