OKAY! It’s update time again. It’s been 6 days (7 now) since I last updated. Unfortunately, I have about 3.5 pages of notes, so I can’t have a 2 page update. So what I will do is split the update into 2 parts, the top part and bottom part. The first part will be the interesting update, stuff you might want to reply to. The bottom part is more like ‘review’ stuff. As well, I had several dreams lately, and they will go there too (they’re interesting, but they could be long and you may not want to read them, so they go in the 2nd part). So, you’re supposed to read both parts, but for those that like shorter updates, then… yeah. I’d imagine the top would be easier to comment to.
I started this update at 8:00, but unfortunately, I’m watching CSI now, so… it might not get done until tomorrow. And I’m talking to Alan, and Jeff Tran, and Diana, whom I haven’t talked to in a few months. And maybe around 9 or 10, Jason will come over, and we’ll play games! Or, at 9 I’ll try out Gilmore Girls (but it doesn’t seem to be on), or at 10, CSI NY. So, I have a lot of fun reasons to not write this yet. I couldn’t post this update before because of procrastinating and homework and stuff. But anyway, onto the update.
-------- the songs ------
First of all, the two or three songs of the day. Comment about this, or maybe I won’t post too many more songs :P
Other than this, I won’t mention Elfen Lied in the update (although I have a few topics about it), but here it is, the wonderfully, peaceful, episode 9 Elfen Lied Intro Music-Box version:
http://www.baomon.com/board/ElfenLied-MusicBox.mp3
http://www.baomon.com/board/tos-teth-boss.mp3 - Tales of Symphonia, Tethe’alla Boss Music. The Sylvarant boss music has more of a sense of danger and scariness. The tethe’alla boss music has more of a sense of power and importance.
http://www.baomon.com/board/slayer-skeletons.mp3 - Slayer (the metal band), Skeletons of Society. Just a comparison to the Tethe’alla boss music. In other words, if you like Teth Boss music, maybe you like Metal music!
That’s it for songs for now. Maybe Jia wants me to post Bananaphone and Banananaphone slow? Hehehe… we’ll see.
MAN, I GOT A LOT TO WRITE ABOUT! And it’s 9:10 now, I have “the apprentice” running in the background, and Jason’s coming over in a few minutes. Anyway, this update was written in random chunks, so there will be no new updates on what I’m currently doing or what time it is currently or whatever, because it won’t make sense, and I doubt you’re interested in that either :P
--------- chapter 2 - preview ----------
Went to a bunch of places for lunch and dinners lately. Read reviews about them in chapter 2. On Friday, we went to CTRL-A, and it was a fun experience. Read about the visit, and a review on some of the anime, in chapter 2.
I haven’t seen much seinfeld, but maybe I should get them DVDs? As well, I’m not sure whether or not to get the Simpsons dvds, or the Transformers ones. Read about then in chapter 2.
I have a few paragraphs about my courses, just an update for each course. That’s in chapter 2 too! And then I played some more Doom 3, and I wrote a review on why it is ‘scary’. Also, in November there seems to be a lot of games coming out, so we’ll spend a lot then :) That’s in chapter 2 too.
Lastly, I had about 5.5 dreams over the past little while which I have blogged about. Reading about dreams isn’t for everyone, and they could get long, but they could be interesting, so you can read them in chapter 2 also. Who knows, some of you were in the dreams! So that’s in Chapter 2. Now, onto non-chapter 2 stuff.
---- stuffies -------
The new Magic the Gathering set, Champions of Kamigawa, comes out on Friday, and if things go as planned, we’ll be having a draft on Saturday, the day after! So it’s just Alan, myself, Jason, and Duy, and maybe David. So we’ll go back to ‘Sauga, buy the cards at untouchables, and have the draft there. That should be fun. As for the next weekend, Ambrose is coming back since it’s Thanksgiving weekend, and we get Monday off! YAY! Paton is also scheduled to come back that weekend, so that’s good. Not sure if they’ll be busy, since it’s a holiday weekend (which means spending time with family), but we’ll see.
I think there’s something wrong with my winamp. When I hit “open”, and it shows all supported file types, it shows things like text files and jpegs and… well, I guess it shows almost everything, and it can’t do anything with most files. Why is that?
I keep hearing about all my friends in Co-op, how they’re doing pretty important jobs now. Before, I was doing some webpages, in-house for Hewlett Packard, and some other stuff for the Government too. But now my friends are doing pretty important, higher jobs, such as directly programming a piece of software and handling real clients and stuff. I think that’s pretty cool. I just thought I’d mention that. They’re trusted with harder, more important jobs that they weren’t allowed to have 4 years ago when they first entered University. I guess we’re becoming real people now… or I mean, real adults or something…
-------- Chieftain's too fat
This week, we started playing Warcraft 3. And it’s fun! First of all, we all enjoy it; didn’t think Duy would enjoy it too much, but he does. It’s not like Starcraft, who people don’t like as much, or Sega Rally, where Alan can’t play too well, or Generals, where Alan’s computer causes it to go REALLY slow. Warcraft 3 is a good game, and we all equally suck at it so it’s fun that way. Well, Jason’s better, but the rest of us are relatively on the same level, so it’s well balanced.
I downloaded some Evangelion game via bittorrent and had it burnt to a cd (cuz it was an iso)… apparently it was a dating sim / movie. So it’s a dating sim I think, but 90% of the game is animation – parts where you don’t get to make choices. So I played it (watched it) for about 10 minutes and then started with Warcraft 3.
------- Menus @ Home
Alright, I keep seeing ads about Menusathome.com, so the other day I browsed around, and today (2:34 AM) I signed up, which was free, so I can check out delivery charges and stuff. Anyway, Menusathome is a service where you can buy food and have it delivered to you; And you can choose from almost 50 restaurants, and you can view menus online.
So I just signed up, and delivery charges are $5.00. Maybe that’s for the entire order, I suppose, unless the order’s huge. So, there are a bunch of restaurants; we won’t need to use the service if we’re going to Mel’s or Curry in a Hurry or whatever, but since we don’t have a car, for $5.00 delivery we can get a bunch of different foods not close to us. So I think that’s good. We can try different foods! YAY!
Also, now I know what they have at Molly Bloom’s other than wings ;)
EWWW!! 2:40 AM, I just clicked around, and EWW!! Okay, so before I signed up, I can browse menus freely. When you sign up, they assume you want to make an order, so you specify what time it should come, or “as soon as possible”. Now, when you click on a restaurant, it might say “Sorry, the restaurant is not open and you can’t buy stuff now”. So that translates to “you can’t look at the menu now, while an unregistered user can, and you can’t logout, we won’t let you.” OMG THAT SUXX0RS. –10 to usability to the site. So now I set it to send stuff to me at 2:00 pm tomorrow… what a crap-ass system.
But hehe, David mentioned a Yummy Yummy restaurant, and here in Waterloo we have a Yummy Yaki restaurant. I thought it was funny. Oh well.
-------- Emotional Shirts
Nowadays, for some reason, I find myself more emotional. Like, when something doesn’t go my way, or if someone hurts my feelings more, the tear shows up, compared to before when nothing would show up and I’d just bury the thought. Hmmm… maybe I’m getting more sensitive, or weaker, or whatever…
Alright, so originality is good and all, but the other day I was thinking about shirts and shirt patterns, or shirt pictures. I noticed most people wear shirts that are totally white, or totally black, or totally one colour. T-shirts, blouses, tank tops, etc, all just one colour. Some have one or two stripes, or a tiny little logo somewhere. Some have a little bit of text, some have big pieces of text, like with common text or sayings, or some with funny sayings.
And here I am, wearing a shirt with a bunch of tree frogs on it. Or a CANCUN shirt with animals on it. Is that odd? I feel a bit… childish, with those things. Sure, I’m ‘original’ and not trying to fit in, but it feels weird… everyone has a regular blank shirt, and my shirt is not. So I feel out of place…
--------- God of the Kitchen -----
Earlier this week or on the weekend, we went to Sobey’s with Wen, and bought groceries and snacks and stuff. And thus, we started cooking. The other day we got together (all except Wen) and made Spaghetti, and that was pretty successful. Yesterday I started making chocolate milkshakes, which are just milk and chocolate icecream (the kind that comes in 4L tubs that are sold for $4.50), mixed in a blender. Eventually we’ll start mixing protein powder into that. Anyway, so that’s easy to make too, which is good, cuz I like chocolate milkshakes.
