There IS a spoon! Ahh, it's a snake! And anime-a-thon stuff

Alright! So, a small update, and a few quick points about the anime-a-thon and the schedule.

From my msn name, There IS a spoon! And it's subbing Full Metal Alchemist now, all the episodes after funimation ate up the license. Word has it that [Spoon] is a part of [ANBU] that split from Anbu... anyway, so the subbing feels like a Keep-Anbu production, so that's great. On that note, episode 37 was pretty funny. Episode 37 feels like a Fumoffu episode. The other part of my msn name, Tomato + Potato = Pomato also comes from that episode. Unfortunately, the anime-a-thon won't reach ep 37 :P

Also, on that note, I decided to rewatch Bobobo episode 4 today, which I haven't seen for a while, and one part made me laugh cuz I forgot about it. That's all.

Today, after lunch, we saw a snake in our frontyard. Actually, we were stepping out of the house and we saw a snake slither into our bushes. It was a thin, snake, like, yellow and black... wait a minute, that doesn't sound so nice.. *shifty eyes*

Today on MSN, Wen and I had an intellectual discussion about hobos and bums. Hobos are pretty homeless most of the time, but if I just say the word "bum", does it automatically imply that they are homeless?

Another question: What do you get when you put a rabbit (that likes to nibble on things) and Settlers of Catan in the same room?

A: A 9/X tile with bitten corners, a few dev cards with messed up corners, and a half-eaten soldier.

Well, it wasn't a problem before, but now it is a problem, so we can't allow the rabbit and catan to be together without supervision.

Anyway, the anime-a-thon starts saturday, and I recommend you all to come early. The good thing with FMA is that the first 2 episodes are... apart from the other early episodes, so if you miss some of the first one, well, that's too bad, but it's not the end of the world. But don't miss it!

So now the confirmed list is us 2, Isaque, Jia, Ricky, Wen, and Jody, and Mike might come, and I'll call Andy tomorrow. Oh, and Eric might come too. And David still has to form a decision.

The event starts Saturday afternoon and ends Sunday night, so we're allowing everyone to spend the night. I'm not sure how many will take the offer, so I'm putting more emphasis on Saturday's show.

Anyway, the voting made it so that it's almost a tie between FMA-Funny and pure Funny, so I took the schedule from FMA-Funny and modified it a bit. Also, you can see from the 2nd day, it seems like a hybrid from FMA-Funny and pure Funny. First day is mostly like FMA-Funny.

On the second day, there are some parts where there are choices, which the audience would pick the anime to watch. Since it was a tie between FMA-funny and FMA, the audience might not want to watch more FMA. Well, Isaque thinks it's important to get to episode 25, and yes, it's a great, pivotal, very important-storyline episode. I say, episode 15 is also a good point to watch till, but 25 is optimal. Then I also say 19 is a good place to stop... well, no, 19 is more like a cliff-hanger ending, but I guess it's your choice.

Now, a problem with previous anime-a-thons was there was too much break. And there might've been a problem with the proposed schedules, because there weren't enough breaks. And since I can't force people to watch anime all the time, but I would dislike it if Jia just came here to play D2x ALL the time, so I'm changing it around a bit.

I have now scheduled in a few more breaks, and then there are parts which the anime can be optionally seen. The anime will still be running, and I hope you watch it, but I can't force you to watch it. Then, there are places were I really want you to (i.e., will force you to) watch it. No surprise here, these parts are the ones where I'm showing Full Metal Alchemist. Isaque seems to be on the idea of forcing you to watch FMA also, so yay for us :)

Oh yeah, I'm thinking, is Ricky the only one who hasn't seen a good deal of Azumanga Daioh? So, since only one person hasn't seen it and I think most of everyone else has seen it, I'm putting it as an option on the schedule but not a mandatory. The less-seen Sensei No Ojikan is on the schedule more so now, as episode 7 has just come out.

So overall, I guess this schedule is better for everyone. Less forcing, more breaks, more options.

Last, but not least... well, afternoon Saturday till Sunday night covers 2 dinners, a lunch, a breakfast, and multiple snack points, so there's the food issue. We'll buy chips and pop and stuff, have pizza one night, have something different here and there, we'll have a vote, etc. So, bring money, or bring some chips and pop to cover the cost, but tell us in advance if you want to trade chips and pop for food.

So, here is the latest version of the schedule.
