50 first full metal tournaments
Hmm... sometimes I do stuff and then I press enter, and it's a double line break, but sometimes I do other stuff and it's a single line break. I love single line breaks, I hate double line breaks. So I go back to saying that this thing sucks, cuz it's random.
So I haven't updated for a while, mainly because there was nothing to update about. Anyway, if you've been to Alan's blog, then this is just a recap, if not, here are this weekend's plans:
------------- M A G I C T O U R N A M E N T ----------
Saturday, starts at 2pm, here, Magic Sealed/Draft tournament. That is, you start with a mirrodin starter, so that's the sealed part, and then comes the drafting of a darksteel booster and 2 fifth dawn boosters. 40 Card decks, maybe we'll be playing in teams, etc... $25 - $30 or something, and food, and things. So far, there's Alan, myself, and Duy; Jason's confirmed too. Ray can't make Saturday, but could make Sunday, but unfortunately, it's been moved back to Saturday. Wen is a definate maybe, Andy says he might have plans to go to a b-day party that day, he doesn't know yet. Duy still has to ask Mike and his buddies, so if they come, we'll have enough people for sure.
**News! I just messaged Andrew Paton, and he loves Magic! And he missed the last party because he thought it was next week, so he has no plans this coming saturday, so... he's probably coming too! SCORE! **
Anyway, that's enough about the magic tournament. Come! Enjoy! Alan says spectators aren't really allowed, since they make it less organized and all that... but oh well. We'll see. ask.

I love Full Metal Alchemist! Anyway, you all know that already. Now I really need to see episode 40... anyway, the other day I read some text and stuff about FMA, and I watched a few music videos of FMA; 1 okay one, 3 crappy ones, ehhh... so now I'm in the mood for more full metal alchemist. Maybe I'll make a music video... I need a song that has words... a theme related to full metal alchemist, preferably, or something I can use that sync with the characters or whatever... something that both real people would know, and you guys too... so maybe something from a movie, or, the other day, I was thinking Bohemian Rhapsody, but that's a really long song... oh well...
Anyway, a bunch of you still should see more FMA :)

So... what have I done since Sunday? Not much, really. Alan came over on Tuesday... we beat 4 swords on tuesday. 4 Swords was a fun game. it'd be cool with 4 players... I should try 1 player mode now, that should be fun too. I guess the game has some replay value... and it's always fun playing with different people.
Our personal trainer had a death in the family, so she was absent yesterday, and she might be again tomorrow. I guess we should still go to the gym...
It's my sister's birthday tomorrow, so today I went to futureshop and got "her" CSI: Miami, Seaosn 1 boxset. Well, I got her and me that. It's for me too :P . And if I recall correctly, Futurama season 1, episodes 1-13, used to be $43, was it not? Well, then I also picked it up for $20, so wheee. Wish I had more episodes, but that'll do for now.
Last but not least, Tuesday night, saw Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in 50 First Dates.
----------------- 5 0 F I R S T D A T E S ----------------
Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore star in 50 first dates, as well as Rob Shneider (who is in all other Sandler films, pretty much), and Sean Astin (Sam-wise the brave, or however you say it). The movie is about a guy who falls in love with a girl who has no short term memory (think Memento), and thus has to find a new way to impress her and fall in love every day.
Sandler and Barrymore were stars together before in Wedding Singer, which I really liked, for some reason. Oddly enough, we don't have that dvd yet, even though it's really cheap. Anyway, 50 first dates was a pretty good movie. The difference between Lucy's (Barrymore's character) short term memory loss and Leonard's (Guy Pearce's character in Memento) is that, Lucy's memory disappears only when she sleeps at night, and the whole city and her dad and her friends are all pretending that it's October 2003 every day, so that she doesn't realize she has short term memory loss.
Hmm... anyway, let's get to the review. I liked 50 first dates. Romantic comedy, with parts with lots of sadness, but mostly romantic comedy. On the dvd rental box, it says that there are crude sexual jokes, and yes, there are a bunch of those, so that brings it up a bit from PG or G. Without those, it's pretty much a PG movie.
Performances... well, they're pretty good. Sandler's not as rude as normal (so it's just like Wedding Singer), and Barrymore always rocks. Sean Astin plays a 'retarded' brother - well, he's not retarded, but he's a little slow and a little stupid and stuff. He doesn't look at all like Sam-wise the brave... he looks like he could be in Bill and Ted's excellent adventure.
Anyway, I give the movie 2 thumbs up. If you liked the wedding singer, then there's a good chance you'll like this one too. I'm not sure why, but they're both romantic comedies. 50 first dates might be better, cuz I don't remember much of wedding singer, except that Steve Buscemi's in that and he's not in 50 first dates. oh well. Can't win them all.
