Wario ware vs Donkey Kong

Had a dream this morning about hockey, combined with mxc and mario vs donkey kong. And highschool. and Ambrose was in the dream. It was weiiird.

Anyway, yesterday was Saturday, and Jia, Ambrose, and Wen came over. Wen left before dinner, and the others stayed till about midnight.

So the first thing on the agenda was WarioWare. It seemed when we first played the 4-player mode, Jia and Ambrose didn't like it. When Wen came, we were already playing smash, but eventually we switched back to WarioWare. I think Wen enjoyed it a bit, and Ambrose started liking it a bit more, but Jia was still a bit... skeptical or whatever.

As for me, I really enjoyed the game. I really enjoyed it. The next day (Sunday, today) Duy and I played it more to beat the first single-player mode, and we seemed to really enjoy it more. Unfortunately, it looks like it's one of those games which is excellent for the first few weeks, and then it could start getting repetitive. Well, it can be one of those fun games in multiplayer every now and then, but other than that, it could get repetitive.

There are 25 stages in each level, and the levels have different names - probably the most interesting level was the one called "Nintendo". Here's a video of it. It's about 9megs, and it's 3:12 in length. Please download it! It's surprisingly interesting. I encourage Wen to download it cuz he seemed to enjoy it, and someone like David too - it seems like a game that he could enjoy.

Nintendo stage in WW - 9 megs, 3:12 long.

It's encoded in, I think, a Windows Media Player 9 video codec or something, and it's still pretty good quality despite a relatively low file size. Maybe you need WMP9 to get it, but chances are you might need this codec, which I uploaded to my site too, and it's about 700k:

For someone that's so insane and crazy like Jia (he says that himself), it's odd that he doesn't like insane, crazy, and odd things. He likes regular things, like regular games. He likes anime, but he doesn't like things like Bobobo, although I would think he's crazy enough to like it. He can play pictionary, but he rejects the idea of indirect pictionary because it's different than the regular way of playing. And then there's WarioWare, which is kinda weird too.

Then there's Ray, who doesn't really like things the way he does it - that is, he likes his poker, his mahjong, and his pictionary.

Last night we had tacos for dinner. It was a fun experience. Jia and Ambrose were here, and there was myself, Duy, my sis, my two parents, and eventually my uncle and etc came. So we had to make the tacos, and Ambrose and Jia were kind enough to help out. So we all helped out - diced tomatoes, cut onions, etc, etc. - it was a good experience.

I really like tacos. I tried making a gordita crunch type taco. That was interesting. Meat was good. Tiny desserts were good too.

Hockey game was on, and we also played Mao that night. 'twas fun. Jia had crazy rules. I guess Jia can play this crazy weird game. Sure had a lot of cards in my hand. I also tried to incorporate settlers and mahjong into the game... the settlers thing didn't work tooo well, the mahjong thing was okay. There were some other cool rules too...

Umm... let's review Mario vs Donkey Kong for GBA. I'm done 4 of the 6 original worlds, so I'm almost done the game. I'm currently half-stuck on a level, so it's getting difficult now. It's a pretty good game. I can't think of a real puzzle game right now, so I'll say it's a bit like lemmings. Well, there's just 1 lemming, and it's not a mouse-click game - well, it's mario, and you can walk, jump, special different jumps, pick up stuff, get hit by enemies, die, etc. It's a puzzle game, with a goal, with keys, with extra stuff like 1-ups and presents and boss battles too.

So it's a puzzle game with platformer elements. The levels get harder, and the puzzles are somewhat tricky, but it's fun. As for replay value, well, you can set higher scores and you can unlock stuff if you beat certain scores on a level.

Um... I guess that ends the update. My final gamefaqs score: 124. How'bout you?
