Update 1 of 3 - Settlers

Alright, so I updated... umm... Sunday afternoon or so. Should I update one big update, or multiple little updates? Well, looking at the notes I wrote down... this entry should be less than half as long as the current one. Then again, less days have... wait, no... 3 days have passed. Well... anyyway..

So that afternoon I had a nap. I love long naps. 5:00 till 5:56, then woke up, then I thought I was gonna get up but I fell into 2nd sleep, and then I woke up at 7:24 when Duy told me it was time to go eat at the other house. After eating we watched Simpsons.

Then we all know about the crazy power-outages, yes? So I don't really have much to say. It's a good thing we got Settlers, cuz we played that then. We played more settler games, and Vinh plays now too. He's an okay player... not too good with starting spots yet (although he does try to ninja sometimes) - he's not too good at choosing road placements yet, and I guess he's undecisive, so he keeps a lot of resources in hand. One time, "7" was rolled twice in a row and as a result he lost maybe 12 resources. I guess he's getting better at trading, although I did win the game today because he took my ore for 3 sheep (because he really wanted a city, and I had a 3:1).

The weird thing about Settlers is that, I think Duy has a better strategy and he gets more variety of cards, and good early brick/lumber sources to expand. I have a weird strategy that really likes shotgun, and massive sheep/ore/wheat and almost no brick and lumber, and I get away with a lot of trading. It's weird.

Anyway, we've also been experimenting with different number layouts. Vinh designs new layout, like, instead of counterclockwise from the outside, you can go from the center, or you can try zigzagging the numbers back and forth across the map, and they get different layouts that well that make it fun and exciting.

We had a fun Settlers game with Isaque the other day, where we managed to use a 'daily-show-with-jon-stuart' quote. By now, I've already shown most people the "fast-track to CEO town" clip, and we managed to use the first thing Steve said in that. We were using a different board layout where I had an 8/8/4 source, and enough cities and settlements so that when somebody rolled 8, I would get 4 sheep and 4 wheat. So everytime I rolled an 8, I would get "lots of cash." Then, Vinh robbered my wheat-8, and then Duy rolled and I said, "don't get an 8... oh wait, you can still get an 8." and then an 8 was rolled, and Duy exclaimed "Because you STILL MAKE A LOT OF MONEY!!"

So if an 8 was rolled, I make a lot of money. But if it was robbered, I Still Make a lot of money!!

So anyway, Isaque came over on Monday. He taught me bones and stuff in 3dstudio max! Whee.... I can probably create something better now. But let's go back in time for a bit. Actually... let's split this update into... 3 updates! It's probably easier to read, and... easier to comment on... and kinda like splitting it into 3 topics with separate subtopics... so this one is like, a Settler's subtopic..
