Initializing Ninjalicious Phones and Settling for Full Metal Puncture Wounds
Played settler's tonight, with Duy, Alan, and Isaque. I was blue, Isaque was orange, Duy was white, and Alan was red. I just asked Duy, and he said he didn't know his strategy, or he didn't have one. It was Isaque's first time playing, but he did pretty well. To determine turn order, I rolled last but I got 11, so I went first - so my first piece was the 5/10/8, and then Alan took the ore locations so my strategy turned to double up on 5/10, so I took 5/10/Desert. Alan decided to become the Ore King. As you can see, I think I lost - Alan had longest road and - yes, as you can see, he has 4 cities, all near the same set of resources - so roll a pregnant 3, and he gets 4 of a resource. Lots of 6's were rolled, as were 7's - not so many 8's, not too many 5's and 10's, some 4's and 2's, etc... 2 soldiers played in total, no victory point cards (duy says he had one though), and I used monopoly once to steal 1 wheat off of Isaque.
Had pizza for dinner. Called Pizza pizza, yay yay yay - err... well, didn't ask for any specials, so 2 large came to $28.51, which was pretty beastly and not worth it. Should be more careful and more expecting ninjaeness next time. Should've called Pizza hut and get Ninja turtles on dvd... pizza with tomato/mushroom/green pepper and pineapple/chicken/it.sausage w/ bbq sauce.
Isaque watched Memento, while Alan watched Full Metal Alchemist 29-31. Now he's in the same position as I am, as well as Isaque. Oh well. Someone will sub it, and we'll get that one. Too bad it won't be keep-anbu, nor sonchou, whoever they are... Unfortunately, we forgot about CSI so we missed that, and I also missed survivor all-stars-recap-thingy, but I guess that's allright... anyway, I need FMA back from Jason, so I guess I should contact him about that...
After that, we played UT2004 on 3 computers for a bit, that was fun. Shall do that again in the near future. One mod I always keep on now is slow motion corpses - matrix-like stamina-melee-like slow motion deaths. As well as other multiplayer games, I found our 4-player chess set, so I'm in the mood to play that again.
We're getting our house painted! We have 4 lovely girls painting our house. So now you may want to remember our house number, and not "the house with the turquoise garages".
On recommendation by Jody, I found myself at a website, suprnova.org, which is a bunch of bittorrent links to movies, games, etc - so I downloaded Duke 3d again, haven't played it yet, but extracted the midi music. Speaking of which, I'll listen to now. Anyway, the point of this paragraph is I also downloaded 'Slayers - Gorgeous', a (new?) slayers movie. I would say it's new because I haven't heard of it before, but the animation style is pretty much identical to other slayer shows/movies. Anyway, I saw the first 5 minutes, but Lina didn't blow anything up by accident, so I continued to watch another 6 minutes, and Lina did break some stuff, but on purpose. Also, as usual, they're all poor and thus, money hungry. Anyway wanna watch a slayers movie? We can do that next time..
Watched Madlax3, Baku3, Shura No Toki 1, Smash Hit 5 - and thus I'm downloading Cosprayers now. For those that don't know, Smash Hit is an anime about people making an anime - namely, people making Cosprayers. I wouldn't exactly say it's that great, but the episodes are short and... so it's easy to watch. So now I'm downloading cosprayers to understand it better.
Shrimp Crackers are so addictive! You all knew that already, but I tried them again, and they ARE addictive! that's all. And they look so innocently non-junk-food like, although they're probably pretty fatty and all the stuff that defines junkfood.
I downloaded the Full Metal Alchemist soundtrack. All the files are in MPC - so I had to download another winamp plugin for that. Why not MP3? This is starting to annoy me - so many different file formats coming out, so many different codecs needed. It's starting to annoy me... they should just universalize everything... heck, now the divx files that Adobe Premiere spews out, can't be read by Adobe Premiere because of all these codecs infecting files. I guess I should get a new version of Premiere...
The other day, I called the fitness centre because I had to cancel an appointment. Well, I was on hold for 3 minutes, so I decided to give up and call again later. So I hung up, and then the phone rang, so I picked it up - and then I was on hold again. NINJA!!!!
I noticed that the main reason why a lot of things get done is the initialization phase. For example, Duy doesn't really like to start playing Halo. However, after I push him to start it, he really enjoys his time while playing it. Duy doesn't watch too much anime, but as he's sitting on the couch, Jia puts on Tekkaman Blade 2, and Duy just continues to watch it for all 6 episodes. Sometimes, I don't want to start watching any animes, but I just initialize it and... well, then I watch it. It's like, we don't like expending the time to do something, but once you do it, you realize it's fun and you continue doing it.
So... I just gotta initialize a few things. People complain that movies are too long and anime takes too long to watch - yet if I manage to initialize it, then there's a good chance we can go through a 5-episode marathon with no problems. Speaking of which, Evangelion anyone?
Well... I seemed to have started a bad habit... well, not really. We complained before how Alan is always on Away, and so we don't know whether or not he's there or not. Well, lately, I've been always on busy, whether I'm here or not. My secondary reason is that sometimes my mom calls me to help her, and I'll be away from the computer for indeterminate amounts of time - but my primary is that when I'm not on away/busy, then it feels like I have a commitment to being on msn. So as long as I'm on busy, then I don't have to be on... I can wander around the house or watch tv or be online or whatever. Anyway, I'm not on -busy- right now, but... yeah.
Watched Family Feud a few times over this week. It's Bachelors vs Playmates week! Playboy Playmates vs 'hotties' from Soap Operas. I've taped a few minutes here and there - I'm weird when I have a vcr with a non-full tape in it. I tend to tape random stuff sometimes. So I have about 15 minutes of family feud on it and 4 minutes of the Daily Show. Speaking of which, I like the daily show with jon stuart.
The other day we thought of "Megarace" - remember that game? While the gameplay was somewhat bad, the cutscenes featuring "Lance Boyle" were quite hilarious - even today. So I remembered I camcorded some of it once and I transferred it to my computer. It's funny stuff! It is!
Anyway, back to UT2004 - I love the mutators. It's like Smash Melee - so customizable, but even more so. Many new ways to play the game. Want instant-kill weapons? Super fast weapons? Slow motion? Super fast game play? Slow motion deaths? It feels like I'm advertising something. Levels with only planes? Levels with only redeemers? Quad-Jump? ETC ETC! It's soooo ... fun. And now we have 3 players, so yaay.
Had 3 dreams. Well, this morning we had to go to the gym at 9, so I had a dream where we slept in, or it was 9, and then it was 10, and my parents didn't give us a ride so we played poker. Another dream, we were showing Strong bad e-mails (weird ones) to my sister.
But the primary, short dream... ugghhh... apparently I had braces again, and the night before I brushed my teeth with the palm of my hands. So when I woke up, I had like, puncture wounds on my hand. Tiny, tiny holes, and you can see through them. Like, 50 holes, some 1mm radius, some smaller, some 2mm radius. It was disgusting. I also looked on my chest, and the puncture wounds were there too, but you can't see through them. They were more like indents. It was disgusting.
That reminds me, the night before I watched a few minutes of a special about the uses of cheese on the foodnetwork.
Anyway, this entry has a lot of random topics, but I don't think there will be many comments about all the stuff I talked about. Too many topics. However, Settler of Catan is the trend right now, so there might be comments about that.
Anyway, get-together on Saturday. Focus is on 6-player settlers. Still listening to one song from the duke3d midi list. gotta get more coke. Anime North? Probably not going, but Ching is going, and she's dressing up as Gogo from Kill Bill. Sounds mighty nice ;) Hehe. But I doubt I'll be going, although my friend Amy is also going and she's cosplaying as 3 different things I think. Which reminds me, from Jody's link he gave me, I'm also downloading Kill Bill 2, but it'll take another 2 days before it finishes. Anyway, it's 12:21 now, and this concluding paragraph is about 3 times as long as it should've been. Anyway, try the puzzle-trivia below! And... yeah. Sleepy. Need coke, and then bed. Gnite.
