Great balls of fire

Starting off with a rant... my dad playing guitar. At early hours in the morning. At first, it was Vinh-Khang playing piano, early in the morning - but he didn't know better. I guess he was.. *ignorant* to other people sleeping and disrespectful, but we taught him so now he doesn't wake us up early with his piano. However, my dad started doing it a lot during the past few weeks (on purpose of course), and it's really starting to irritate me. First of all, my dreams end abruptly, and then it'll take a while for me to try to remember them.

So... well, I don't have much time right now, so I can't explicitly talk about my dreams. I can mention them though... one of the dreams involved a girl off of message boards that Duy visits... well, no, not a real girl (like Ren or Terra) but a new made up girl - and then in the dream, she e-mails me her blog page and I think some viruses or something, but eventually I go to meet her at her house and I see her, her dad, and her slutty sister. It was a good dream though. The girl was pretty sweet.

Another dream, Alan, myself, David I think, and Wen were in Wen's car, and we had to drop off Alan at his house. I remember seeing my dad's car on the way, but upon driving out of Alan's housing complex I looked at the license plate and it wasn't ours, it was like, 33333333-(something). Anyway, in the dream I remember asking David why he didn't like d20modern... and now I think of it, maybe I should ask the question again.

Anyway, to the bigger part of the topic. At around 10:30 AM, my mom tells me that my uncle wants to see Troy this afternoon. So I thought, sure, let's go see it, and I wanted to see if Alan and Wen wanted to tag along, cuz they wanted to see it too. But unfortunately, we kept calling Alan and Wen a couple times between 11:00 and 2:00, but they didn't pick up, so we (Duy, myself, and uncle) went to see it ourselves, Coliseum, 3:40 pm, $11.50 each... ugh.

Anyway, so my uncle goes to Sport Chek to chek out some stuff, so Duy and I walk around the arcade for a few minutes, and then head upstairs to the movie around 3:15, 25 minutes before it started. Guess how many people were there! Well, the answer would be either <5 or >75, and in this case, the entire theatre was empty. However, by 3:45, the theatre was... well, the portion at the bottom was empty, and the portion of the top was pretty full, yet comfortable. I wanted some room so I moved over one seat away from Duy, so I had nobody on my left and nobody on my right, so I myself was pretty comfortable.

Before the movie commercials started, we saw a funny commercial about the short-film festival coming up in a few days, or going on now or something. It's not really funny in words, so you should go see it yourself :P That (honda) civic nation commercial's not bad either... it looks nice. That Russell Oliver guy that wants to buy your used jewelry scares me... well, not really, but he's been creepy for all the time we've known him from TV... yelling at us, wanting to buy our used jewelry...

Anyway, on to the movie commercials. We saw either 6 or 7 of them, not sure if I remember the 7th. Catwoman looks alright, I'll look forward to Ocean's 12, Spiderman 2 for sure (even though I've seen that commercial so many times, I won't get sick of it... yet)... the terminal, constantine... King Arthur actually looks pretty good. Directed by Bruckheimer and Fuqua(sp?) (Training Day), it looks pretty interesting. I didn't take the AL course, so Duy and Alan would probably be more interested, but I'd still like to see it. Comes out this summer as well.

Onto the movie. Great movie! Duy thought it was good, I thought it was greater than good. It looks pretty - not as pretty as Return of the King, but still pretty good. Didn't know quite what to expect, from part of the hype, anti-hype (people who've seen it and say "it's not as good as it's hyped up to be"), and everything. Toronto Star gave it 3 stars, yet it looked like it would be a 4-star movie.

Anyway, it was a great movie. Looked pretty, I suppose acting was good. Some parts near the beginning made me half-dizzy, because of all the fast action and half-blurriness... and sometimes I didn't know which team was which. Anyway, I don't truly follow mythology, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. Like, when I saw Passions of Christ, I didn't know anything except I knew how it was going to end. Same with this movie, except after seeing the 'horse', it all came back to me... I remember it from somewhere. No, not simpsons, but some other real-life re-enactment kinda thing.

All throughout the movie, I was trying to figure out who Agamemnon, the king of the Greek army people... was... I remembered him from another movie, and I kept trying to figure out who he was. I kept picturing him about to die, being a villain... I didn't know who it was. It wasn't until I came home that I realized it was Stryker from X-2, and then a checkup on IMDB confirmed that.

Brad Pitt's pretty hot :P haha. He's pretty omni also... well, yeah, he's Archilles. Although, of course, I didn't know who he was, but he played his part pretty well. Eric Bana was surprisingly good... well, I didn't care much for Eric Banana, but now I think of him as a good actor... well... I guess, yeah.

Orlando Bloom... Paris... well, before the movie, my sister said he was such a coward in the movie... and yes, that's true. He's a coward. At first, he was brave, courageous, but overall, he was a coward. Also had a bow and arrow like Legolas, but unlike Legolas, he just kept shooting people from afar, like a coward would.

Diane Kruger as Helen of Troy... she's pretty hot :)

One of my favourite parts was the sexiest (lack of a better word) attack... well, no, there are much better words to use, like "beautiful" or "clever"... I think Alan should agree with this attack - it's nicely done. I suppose it was in the myth, I wouldn't know, but if Alan doesn't know about it, then he would like this attack. I think it was pretty clever. A bit effective, but pretty clever and really pretty. Great balls of fire :)

Anyway, afterward the movie we went straight home, had some food, saw America's funniest videos. Saw some funny videos, and the nominees this time actually were funny! Usually they pick 3 crappy ones and you don't care about any of them winning, but this time they chose 2 pretty funny ones, and the one that I wanted to win, won! yay. It involves little children in little league baseball, with their first day with 'cups'... testing them out... it was pretty funny. The other funny one involves what Duy would call "ganondorfing"...

Then at 8 it was simpsons, and at 9 it was Super Millionaire, with Regis Philbin again! Super Millionaire was fun. I actually like this game show, and... yeah. That's all I have to say about that for now... I think I can do pretty well, except for those questions about the U.S. ... the 4th question dealt with the Pledge of Alliance, and I soo wouldn't've been able to get it.

Anyway, later I will write more about the anime-a-thon that we will be having... anyway, that's it for now. Gonna go to bed soon, got a personal trainer appointment tomorrow at 8 in the morning...
