Watching Anime
So, this planning for the old games party is going kinda well. It's kinda hard to obtain a NES, so hopefully Ambrose's Famicom will work, and Jia can bring his Nes. Isaque's coming now, haven't seen him for a while, so hopefully Jia will come too.
So the other day after Kevin Yip mentioned PLANETES, I decided to download and watch the first episode. It's... okay, but I wouldn't say that you can compare it to Gunslinger Girl. Anyway, I'm not particularly motivated to download and watch episode 2, so we'll see. I love Gunslinger Girl though ^_^
Anyway, other than that, I have a lot of anime on my computer that I haven't seen yet. Part of the reason is that sometimes I don't want to dedicate 25 minutes of my time to watch an episode. But today I didn't have too much work I *wanted* to do, so I tried something new; instead of forcing myself to spend 25 minutes to watch an episode, instead I forced myself to watch the first 10 minutes of multiple episodes. That way I can test to see if I like the anime or not, and if I do like it, I only have to set aside 15 minutes to watch the rest of the episode, so I can do that before a class starts or something.
So I saw (the first 10 minutes of) Yugo the Negotiator, Maburaho, Happy Lesson Advance episode 9, Diamond Dust Drops, Onegai Teacher, Maria-Sama ga Miteru, and some live action show called Love and Fight.
The last thing I saw was Kaze No Yojimbo, which I was also just gonna see for 10 minutes. However, I was intrigued enough (not that the other ones were bad) so I continued watching till I finished the episode. It was... yes, intriguing. It reminds me of those mystery adventure games that I dislike. Like, you start off in the story and you don't know much about the characters, and he goes around talking to people, and when he talks to someone, a close-up portrait of them shows up and the rest of the screen goes fuzzy - kinda like a dating sim. So the anime sure had its own style, although sometimes it seemed like it was abusing it.
But it was interesting. I wonder what will happen next. I'll watch episode 2, but unfortunately I didn't download the rest and now it's licensed. I'll have to get Hawk to burn me some anime or something...
