Passions

I saw Passion(s) of Christ on Saturday, although I'm not Christian.

Went to AMC Courtney Park, 7pm show, along with Alan, Ambrose, Victoria, and more than a dozen other friends... refer to Alan for the full list.

Victoria is awesome. I like her ;)

So... what can I say about the movie? Well, not being Christian, I went ... partially to, "broaden my horizon"... or taking Wen's words, "be more cultured". Anyway, the movie is more of a "documentary" type movie, so I can't review it like I would any other movie - and everyone already knows the primary story, and how it's going to end, so I guess I can't base my review too much on that either. So I'll just comment.

Non-content-wise, it was good. Beautiful colours, good scenery, good cinematography, angles, etc. Music suited the moods, no complaints. Actors (James Cavaziel (sp?) as Jesus, etc) were great, expressing sadness and pain and all that well. So no complaints in this area.

Not being Christian, the whole movie didn't have as much as an effect on me as it did the rest of the group, I suppose. There indeed was a lot of pain in the movie and I guess you can feel it, as they say in the reviews... although being desensitized through the internet and all that, well... ya know. But yeah, it was still sad to see Jesus have to go through all that.

From conversations gathered after the show, I will conclude that the movie was pretty accurate in the ways they depicted the pain, suffering, blood, gore, etc. It is pretty bloody and gory at times (not like Kill Bill or anything).

Anyway, I say it was a good experience. Of course, the best part for me was meeting Victoria and the rest of the people :)

Anyway, hopefully I didn't say anything to offend anyone in this blog entry...

Anyway, so that's that. Came home today, played some CVS2 with Andy and Duy, went to eat at Mel's Diner, played some more smash, and now I'm here. Saturday afternoon Alan came over and worked with Duy to do the Arthurian Legends project, David was supposed to come over but he never showed up, went to McDonalds with EVERYONE after the movie, came back with Alan and Ambrose after the movie and played some more smash... well, too much smash... >_<

etc etc... had dreams... etc.. etc... so yeah.
