Master of Magnets
Well... this weekend certainly was fun. As you may or may not know, my birthday was on Friday the 12th, so I had a *small* gathering in Saturday - small in the sense that, I didn't invite the usual infinite people that I usually invite to big parties. So overall, this is considered to be a small party, but still quite a few people came. I hope that made sense. Anyway, the party spanned two days, started around 1pm on Saturday and ending a bit after 11am on Sunday.
Anyway, so here's a recap of what happened. Saturday at a bit after 1, Duy receives a call from Jia (at Isaque's) and they need a ride, so Duy goes to pick them up - meanwhile, Amish comes over and I give him a tour of the house, then Jia and Isaque get here and then Amish leaves.
So Jia first goes to the Piano and plays stuff, while Hawk and Duy setup the Sega Genesis and play some Sonic 3, I think it was.
Hmm... I don't feel like typing up a whole recap, so I'll just do it in slightly half-comprehensible point form. Might not be in chronological order.
- Eventually until maybe 3:30 pm, people showed up - Jia, Isaque, David, Jason, Alan, and Ambrose. A few of my sister's friends came, but not for the party.

- We tried to get Ambrose's Sega CD to work, but... it just wouldn't. And Isaque's NES didn't want to work either. And we didn't play too much stuff via emulator cuz nobody brought controllers and I forgot mine in Waterloo... so we didn't play X-men arcade game (Magneto is the Master of Magnets), or Contra 3 and other stuff we already played in Waterloo when Ambrose was here.
- We played 1 game of hearts, and the final score between myself/Jason/Alan/David was like 3/37/111/87 or something. That was fun. Then David left the party around 5:30, for a few hours, came back around 11 and then used the computer till 12.
- Meanwhile, we ordered Popeye's for dinner, but they ninjaed us out of delivery, so Ambrose and I went to pick it up. Twas a good meal, not sure if it was worth all that money though. Everone paid though, and we had more food (lasagna too) so it's all good. That morning we went shopping and I bought a fake cake, well, a coffee cake, not a real cake, but my sis then bought a real cake. Everyone ate my fake cake so I only had the first slice... and Ambrose ate the last slice for breakfast... oh well.
- Real Cake was good. Strawberry shortcake, it was pretty good, although I prefer "Death by Chocolate" cake. I'm not sure what that would be, but you can imagine it... a slice would probably cost $5.49 at Red Lobster's.
- When David was ready to play again, we played Final Fantasy 4 for a bit. Twas good. At around 3:13, I got 2 blankets and a pillow and decided to half-sleep and watch Duy play a link to the past, some part in some dungeon. Meanwhile, Brose and Hawk were already sleeping, and Alan and Jason left. And Jia was playing SD3.
- Duy stopped Link to the past around 4:13, so I actually fell asleep then. Woke up at 7:53, as I hear David talking to Vinh Khang or something. David was going to leave at ~8:10, but Dad offerred a ride at 9:00 so he took that. Prior to leaving, Ambrose learned how to play 1 round of Fool's gold.
- After that, Jia, Hawk, Brose, Duy, and I first played a round of regular monopoly. Ninjia insists I ninjaed the game and all that, since he rolled a higher "initiative" than I did, although Duy rolled the highest and it was clockwise and so my turn was always before Jia, and pretty often I would land on a property and buy it, and then Jia would land on it right afterwards. It was pretty crazy. At the end, I owned hotels on the blues, hotels on the light purples, 4 railroads, and all greens. Jia ate the final blow by jumping from Pacific to a 9999 overkill death on Boardwalk, and Ambrose concedes into 2nd place. That was fun.
- Then we tried playing Pokemonopoly: Chaos, a new version of monopoly we invented (with duels and doubling the pot and stuff) but that didn't work out at all. This version needs to be tweaked. Anyway, 20% through the game, Hawk's dad comes, so eventually everyone leaves... and that's that.
- I made a net profit of Equinox, Skulljagger and Shaq Fu. I wonder what Brose and Jia want for their next birthdays.... ^_^
- Friday afternoon, I installed the CSI demo for my sister and she really liked it, so Saturday morning she went to Futureshop and got the full thing. And then for a lot of Saturday she and her friends played through 4 of the 5 available cases/scenarios.

Umm... that pretty much wraps up most of the weekend. Sunday, got back to Waterloo, showed the house to these 2 girls ^_^, hopefully they'll take the place, and hopefully we'll find a 3rd girl who'll like the basement/duy's room. Wen came over, we saw Bobobo 1, and now he doesn't want to see Bobobo 2. How unfortunate. "I blossomed!" - best context sensitive line ever
On Friday, we backpacked our way to Jason's place, watched him play a stalemate game of Warcraft, and then taught a few people to play SSB:M, and we played 9-1, and then we played Magic and ordered Pizza. On the way back, we talked about Magic cards in the car and some cool nifty ideas. On the way back to Waterloo, slept a bit, and talked about... I dunno how to spell his name. Anson. ...
Now it's 12:45. Sleepy time in 30 minutes. Saw Diamond Dust Drops ep 1, borrowed Onegai Everything from Isaque, Downloading Jubei 2:6 and 2:7 at the moment. My room is cleaner than the average bao room. cleaner than usual. PM Logic homework is okay, can't do last 2 questions too well. Wen's enjoying episodes of Gunslinger Girl now, Jason's enjoying Initial D. Anyway... that's it for now.
