Dark Motives

Alright, it's 10:37 now, and I have class at 1-2:30, and 3:30-5:30. Today in the animation class, I have to hand in the essay, and I'm expecting to watch "Nightmare before Christmas". I've been looking forward to watching that for the past 6 years or so :P Anyway, teacher says he might ninja us (not exact words) because a lot of people have seen the popular movie, so he'll give us a choice. So most likely we'll be watching something different.

Played through the 2nd case of CSI: Dark Motives yesterday. It was... fun, for the most part. More fun than the first case, and relatively easier than the first case. For the first 85 minutes, I did it on my own, and then Alan gave me a hint or two, and then I finally beat it after 110 minutes. It was a pretty long case, or a hard case. Lots of little details you gotta be careful about...

Full Metal Alchemist episode 25 is such a(n) ________ episode! ahhhh! Anyway, I think one day we should have some sort of marathon. I've been saying that for a while now, but I think it would work, and it'd be cool.

I've been watching a lot of videogame speed-runs lately, so I decided to make my own. Not a realistic or serious speed run, but just for me, and anyone who wants to compete in it. The game and setting:

Unreal Tournament 2004 (demo)
Onslaught - ONS-Torlan, the one in the demo.
You start in the red base, >3 minutes on the clock. No bots. Just you.
Your goal is to destroy the blue core as fast as possible. That's it. Timing starts when announcer says "play" (your video should have at least 1 frame saying "game will start in ...1") and ends when you start seeing smoke come out of the blue core at the end.

It's nice and easy. I use FRAPS (full version, found it somewhere on the net via google search) to record my game. So I started doing this about a week ago, and on my first good run, I got a time of 2:26. A few minutes later, I improved the run to 2:22.

Yesterday, I try the run again, just to cut off about 4-5 seconds, but I found another method, and got a time of 2:11. About 20 minutes later, with good practice, I cut my time down to 2:00. And that's where it's at now. It's not a perfect video by any means, and if you watch it, maybe you'll be encouraged to beat it and then you can make me a speed-run video that is flawless. That would be cool.

I had some dreams, related to UT2004, and destroying nodes. But I don't want to type about that now.

Last but not least, I'm going to say something now which might force Alan into a bad position... but I gotta say it.

I don't like grapenut.

To clarify, I don't like the grapenut icecream flavour. The icecream doesn't taste like much, and then there are the grapenut chunks in it. They're inconsistent with the texture of icecream - this isn't always a bad thing, as it's done very often and very pleasantly in Ben and Jerry's icecreams - but it doesn't work so well here. And the grapenut doesn't even taste that good.

So... sorry Alan. Now that it's in my blog, Wen and Jason and Duy will read it, and then they won't want to try out the icecream flavour you bought, and now you're gonna have to eat it all by yourself. Oh well. Maybe you'll like it, and then you can post about it in your blog and get Wen and Jason to eat it too. You can use my self-hardening chocolate if you like, too.

If there is interest, I can put up the speedrun for download.
