templates, tagboards, haloscans, oh my!

Alright... so I started fooling around with my template, all nice and dandy so far... gonna make more changes over the next few days. Gotta relearn stylesheets and all that, or perhaps take down the entire template and replace it with my own with tables and frames and all that. But then again, stylesheets are much more cuztomizable, so I'll try to stick with that.

Haloscan commenting seems to be working well, no problems, easy set-up, etc.

Now here comes the bad part... the tagboard. As you can see, at the time of this writing, it's not there. I like the look of Christa's tagboard, so I want a tagboard. However, when I installed mine, first of all, everytime I reloaded the page a pop-up ad for amazon.com came up. And I checked the faq and forums at tagboard.com, and generally, I found out:
My free tagboard will have pop-ups
My free tagboard does not refresh automatically upon submitting something.

So I need a bit of help here. I guess I'll go with a chatterbox, the thingieing that Alan uses, but I like the professional kinda, plain simple look of the tagboard like on Christa's and Kyle's. Christa, Kyle, if you're reading, how did you get your tagboard to not have pop-up ads? You're not paying for the enhanced service, right? And you didn't sign up for a credit card or AOL or something through their 'other payment method'.

So what's up? AHHH... so confusing.

Anyway, after all these template things are done, I'll start posting real stuff. or we'll see. I haven't formally introduced my blog yet...
