it'll happen again...
So... VSA Poker night coming up. It's gonna be a fun event. I WANT THAT PS2!!! But... is it gonna be just me again? None of my close friends actually come out for VSA events - not including my anime event. They just signed up cuz they were told to. I'm the only one that actually goes to events. Duy doesn't go to them. He even paid for the lunarfest ticket, cuz I told him to, and the topic came up during conversation with parents, so they encouraged him to go to. But he didn't go. Alan went to the first part of lunarfest, but not because he wanted to go - most likely because of some kinda feeling of guilt, that he didn't come out to vsa events. But then he left half-way through.
So what is it? Am I the only experimental one? The only one that wants to try new things, such as cheer for volleyball games, or enter poker tournaments, even if I don't think I'll win? Am I the only one that wants to broaden my circle of friends, and get to know more people? Some of my friends would say "I don't know anyone there, so I won't have any fun." Well, I guess that's their fault. I know lots of people, and that's because I went out to the events, the chill nights, just hanging around, enjoying some noodles, getting to know everyone. So I know everyone, and my close friends don't know anyone and thus they do not go out to events, because they don't know anyone. Circular argument, all over again.
So yesterday I asked Duy and Alan if they want to join the poker tournament, and Alan says he'll join if Duy joins. So I encouraged Duy to join, and he was actually gonna go this time... cuz... well, you have to go if you sign up. So then Duy tells me this morning, after Alan has left, that he found out he has an exam that Saturday, and can't make it in time. So he's out, and I can replace his spot with Andy cuz Andy's going now.
But what about Alan? Alan's gonna read this blog, and he'll want to cancel his registration and not come. But with some kinda murphy's law or something, based on everything above, he won't unregister, but instead, he'll come, same as lunarfest, with a feeling of guilt, not actually wanting to come, and when he gets there, not making an effort to know anyone, as he's only there because of guilt.
Yeah. I'm putting words in people's mouths. It's wrong, but it's probably a correct analogy. Again, there's the murphy's effect where Alan would read this and he would act differently than if I haven't written this at all. So I'll have to see how the murphy effect affects this. Time will tell...
At least he's still going to Pho vihn tin today. I'm gonna have rice with grilled pork chop and chicken or something. I don't feel like spending more on a bird's nest or something.
